Which implant would be easier to inflate/deflate?

Postby Badspartan » Mon Sep 19, 2022 10:06 am

It’s time for an implant. Have already tried pills, injections, and the ved. Wondering which implant would be easiest for inflation and deflation. Have some arthritis in hands. Of particular interest is the Ambicor. Anyone on here address their satisfaction

My Titan was tough to learn how to deflate. The button is quite small, and initially when I still had a bit of swelling/soreness it was very hard to find. Now at close to 3 years with it I'm happy with the results and how it works.
I use both thumbs to inflate, if that's part of your hand that's affected by arthritis, you'll find it hard at first. The bulb does soften in a few months.

Badspertan,
IMHO...
Excellent question...Tough to answer.
Most, if not all guys with an implant, only have one. So, to compare is difficult. I have a Coloplast Titan.
I will say this, if you have arthritis, I'd imagine that it may be a bit more difficult in the beginning to inflate/deflate as the Titan is fairly firm to start but does soften some over time.

After a short time I found the Titan very easy to use -- I can even inflate/deflate through my pants :)
75, used pills, injections -- all lost effectiveness. Titan implanted by Eid in Feb '22.

I have a Coloplast Titan with the old style Genesis pump. My hands are pretty beat up and some what arthritic. I cycle twice a day every day and do Perito bending exercise. Having said that I can tell you that at 14 weeks post implant the bulb is much softer and l can pump to about 90% with just one hand. If l want to push the implant to the absolute max l have to use 2 hands with thumb on thumb method. As far as deflating, the Genesis has the double bar valve and for me it is very easy to locate and squeeze the bars. My doc uses only the Genesis pump. He feels the one touch is more problematic for patients. I speak only from my own experience.
ED for number of years. Used pills and Quadmix. Venous leakage too much to overcome. IPP is only solution to my issue.Coloplast Titan 18cm+3cm RTE's on June 20,2022....Revision September 11,2023. Second revision September 9,2024 20+3

I had both implants. AMS is easier to inflate and deflate and way faster with slightly biger pump.
