what rate is tissue loss?

Postby rbig5000 » Fri Oct 12, 2012 11:07 am

I was reading and got some disturbing info:

http://www.urologicalcare.com/advanced- ... -implants/

It basically says that there is penile tissue loss over using the implants and "two stage pump it".

This could be disturbing for younger guys getting ED.

I'm 72. Is it any real problem for older guys?

The basic question, of course, is what rate is the tissue loss?

It may be that this is no real deal for older guys. Would appreciate comments.

"Causes deterioration and thinning of penile flesh over the long-term."

I think what you are referring to is the non-inflatable and the 2-piece inflatable implants. Most men opt for the 3-piece implant which does not have this issue.

The article is a well written explanation with an in-built message to steer the patient toward the three piece implant and the surgeon providing the article. Given the data presented it is probably accurate, but should be recognized as advertising literature for 3 piece implants and the doctor mentioned as well. It does specifically state that the chances of tissue deterioration are much less likely with the 3 piece implant. It also not so subtly pushes the patient to a "highly experienced" surgeion that will use any brand/model implant at his operating room discretion.

Is tissue loss on implants and "two stge pumps" an issue???? If so, what is the rate of loss? I'm trying to find out if this is something that pushes you to "three stage pumps" or not. It may be a basic non-issue. I'd like to find out if this is an issue.

Sure, I recognize that this is an ad. But, claims are made. Is there any truth to them?
