How to prevent length loss

Postby mschicago » Sat Sep 17, 2022 9:09 pm

I am scheduled for implant surgery on October 24th with Dr. Laurence Levine in Chicago. I have been impotent since late 2019. I never measured penis size prior to impotence but guessing I was 6 1/2 inches or more. Due to impotence, I lost 1.5 inches +\- and now barely scrape past 5 inches erect. In other words I cannot afford to lose any more. I am exercising (VED) ahead of surgery and hope that helps as well. So my question is: Is length loss guaranteed due to an implant (I am getting AMS 700 but not LGX)? I don’t have Peyronies so that might help me. And if length loss is guaranteed, does aggressive cycling and maybe also VED and the Perito exercise as well as following Levine’s directions post-op basically guarantee I regain any lost length from pre-op measurements (and maybe more)?

In the general discussion section if this forum in the documents worth reading thread are a number of articles on preventing size loss. VED exercise is one for before surgery. A doctor who aggressively sizes is another if you care to read more. And the coffin effect document about long waits for activation. Those have to do with surgeon selection. You have already made that choice. And what you need to do is to follow your doctors instructions. No need to use another doctors recovery as doctors and men are different. You may get away with it but there is a risk. Best thing to do is to ask your doctor about the stretching exercise and VED use post op and follow your doctors advice. You have trusted him for this surgery. As far as loss goes there are several causes and some loss is recoverable. With loss caused by ED some may be recovered but some not. Loss from being sized conservatively by a doctor can only be somewhat recovered with the LGX as it will expand in length more than the CX or Titan. The Titan will expand a little bit. Long waits for activation may have recovery of a bit of the loss over years. And will most likely need another longer implant.

In my healthy youth I measured and was a solid 7" with glans engorgement. I went a lot longer than you with untreated ED and total impotence. Post surgery after over a year of aggressive cycling I am just a bit over 6". I was just a bit over 4" when I started cycling. I did not do VED use post surgery nor any stretching exercise. I followed my doctors instructions until 3 months post op and then started pump adding cycling and did so most of the time for another year. Ask your doctor about anything you want to try as your doctor cut you open and knows what is inside. I asked my doctor about pump adding cycling when I was activated and he said no need to force pumps now. So I waited until I was fully healed.

You can decide if and when you want to try other methods and if you want to ask your doctor. I waited and as my doctor seemed to know about and imply later use of pump adding cycling I took what I felt was a small risk and did that on my own. Good luck with this.

Thanks. I know Levine waits 4 weeks before cycling begins. Hopefully that is not too long to wait. Levine is in the same category as Perito, Eid, Hakky, etc. in terms of competence and reputation but just does not toot his horn. Trusting he knows what he is doing.

When I was young I started with what you did. As ED took over, by the time I was implanted this jLast July, I haven't had erections for the previous couple years or so. That probably caused a loss of length. When I started inflating I was only 4 inches. This was very discouraging, but I was still elated that I could get an erection. As far as I know my urologist did a great job. I'm guessing he oversized mine a little based on how high the ends are in my glands. After 2 months of cycling (probably too aggressively, I've gotten to about 5 inches. This bothers me a little, but it's a million times better than no erections.. if I get no bigger than 5 inches I am very happy that at least I can have sex. It may be a struggle sometimes but I'd rather have a struggle. Than be defeated in the war. I would be happy with 4 inches if that's all I could get, because if that's all I could get, it's still better than a noodle.
AMS 700 LGX on July 12, 2022. ED no diagnosed reason since teens with occasional success in 20s. Tried pills and injections.
