according to you a urologist who is dedicated to implants and that
Does 50/60 implants per year qualify as a high volume implantologist?

I'd be pretty happy with someone doing 50-60 per year! Of course it's also nice to hear from some of his/her patients on if they are happy with how their implant turned out

This is some information to look at for case volume and reoperations. https://www.garber-online.com/pdf/Highe ... ctions.pdf And it also shows that the length of time your implant will last also increases with the higher the volume the doctor. But it also shows that the majority of implant surgery is being done by low volume doctors. That is mostly to do with infection and other problems such as cross over and other perforations and improper sizing. What it dose not show in detail is the cosmetic portion of this except in severe cases. The top group in this study was 31+ cases a year. One last thing to note is that by finding a really good doctor for this reduces your chances for infection and other problems it does not eliminate the risk.

sorry but I don't believe it, it would be at least 3 a day, excluding rest periods, holidays, and conferences

I can believe it. He always has someone working with him. He doesn't personally do all his patients. 3 a day in his clinic 3 days a week would be 465. Each operation only takes an hour. IPP is all he does. When I was in recovery after Dr Boyd did me there were 2 other guys in pre op and recovery.

I think that in some fields of surgery. Its common to have someone else that "opens" and someone that "closes" the patient. I'm thinking of heart surgery & maybe organ transplants. It wouldn't surprise me that a busy implant surgeon would have the same arraingements.
Why use the most talented man in the room to do the simple routine stuff?
Oh, 500 is only 1.9 per day. If they "stretch" just a bit on the 500. I think its within reach. Some of the best in any field are workaholics. They don't get to the top of a field by being nonchalant about their work in my opinion.

I don't believe it too. At least if he meant personally.

Sometimes it seems to me there are more implants claimed than executed. We know that vast majority of implants in the USA (80-85% according to medical literature) is performed by low volume implanters. Basically you have 3500-5000 surgeries performed by >15 implants per year surgeons. There can't be so many >100 implanters as wished or claimed sometimes here. They are likely few, 10-15 perhaps.

I do believe it's possible to do 500 implants a year. Perito does only implants. Let's say he does surgery 48 weeks a year, which breaks down to 10 to 11 a week, which is totally doable. My surgeon was doing 200 a year pre-covid, with a busy urological practice. I know he had 4 scheduled the day of my surgery.
20 years of severe Peyronie's plaque, 90 curve, hinging and ED. Cost me 1.5" L and 1" G.
Implanted 2/18/21, AMS CX, 18 CM + 3 RTE, penoscrotal. Have gained 3/4". Gay, married, age 68.

Mine claimed to do 150 a year precovid. First thing he said was he wouldn't hit 150 that year. I thought he had a steady supply of patients. He does them for the local VA hospital. But he said the VA was on the slow side to approve them. That he actually does more implants through his private practice. That really surprised me.
He said the other implanter in my state does just a few less than him per year.
Both have been mentioned on FT but not very often. I think lots of decent surgeons are flying under the radar.
Does anyone have any recent stats on the number of implants implanted per year in the USA? Maybe even in Canada & other parts of the world. I suspect that the number is higher than many people know. Based on members reporting on TSA not being surprised by implants that show up on screening. I bet they find more than we're aware of.
