Zero Hour: Tuesday AM, August 9

Postby Injustright » Sun Aug 07, 2022 11:12 am

Might as well chime in as so many have done, and state I'm set for an implant by Dr. Karpman this coming Tuesday. After years of struggle with ED medications, trying several expensive VEDs to little result, and failing a penile ultrasound which diagnosed both venous leak AND arterial insufficiency, I'm like so many FT members: out of other options.

I have the usual worries: infection, malfunction of the device, costs not covered by insurance, being "shortchanged" in dimensions, etc. But I figure if I can't have sex, and haven't been able to have sex through several presidential administrations, what could go wrong? That I'll end up impotent?

I'm basically soloing on this, as my spouse has had no interest in sex for years, so I haven't even discussed it with her. I have it arranged where I can be away from home for a few days, so this is truly a lone experience. Oh well!
Decades+ ED; finally ultrasound showed venous leak+arterial insufficiency. Infrapubic (Yay!) implant by Dr. Karpman 8/9/22; with 13 cm distal, 9 proximal Titan. Cleared for new life 9/1/22 and hoping to make up for lost time.

Well, congrats on taking the step. Sorry your wife isn't in on it.
Doing this alone is going to be tough. If out-patient, you will need a driver or they won't let you leave. Hate to say but I hurt for weeks. Some guys are pain free in days. Good Luck.

Can you please post your values of penile doppler. Are in range between 25-30cm systolic pressure or above 5cm diastolic? Is that venous leak due to veno-occlusive ED where the tunica fails to stretch and seal the blood due to scar tissue in the corpus cavernosum or tunica albuginea. What is causing your erectile dysfunction?

I feel terrible every time I read how some members wives or partners are not supportive or are no longer interested in intimacy. I live for my wife, and I do everything I can to make her happy. She has been the same way for me. I obviously don't know all the details of other men's marriages but some of your all wives need to be shown the door. I fear that when you get that implant and begin to initiate sex with your wife, and she is not interested, it may cause even more problems. Still, I wish you the best.
Fifty-one years old. ED started at age forty. I took Cialis for eight years and used Trimix for almost three. Implanted 12/6/22 by Dr. Jonathan Clavell. AMS 700CX 21cm.

I hope it can have an easy life, unfortunately the vast majority of wives, after a certain number of years are a ball and chain, not only for the reason of the implant

Sorry, but I don't plan on posting my urological statistics. After being evaluated by one Stanford fellowship-trained urologist, diagnosed by a second Mayo Clinic urological fellow, and treated by a combined MD/Ph.D. over the last five years, I'm just going to take a wild-ass chance that they know of which they speak. I also literally have a half-inch binder full of refereed medical articles regarding the procedure that I've read and reread. If I get this wrong it's going to be on me, unless Karpman overpromises and underdelivers, instead of the reverse.

On a separate note, since I'll be spending one night hospitalized I'm told I should be able to drive myself home. But "out of an abundance of caution", as the phrase goes, I'll stay the second night at a local hotel anyway. It's not really as if I'd be missed at home.

On another separate note, I'll suggest to Dr. Karpman that he start selling tee shirts "Karpman's Bionics." Talk about a conversation starter!

Ok then. I've been trying to see who posts values to compare them with mine and see if there's enough evidence for an implant or if ED can be reversed by doing regenerative medice.

On the other hand, I wish the the best and speedy recover on your new journey.

I meant no disrespect or criticism of your post, BTW, 1380Anthony, but after I received twice the normal dosage of Trimix for the ultrasound and still ended up with a pretty limp noodle to evaluate, I wasn't of a mind to look over the physician's laptop to quibble about results. The prospect of jabbing my penis in exchange for getting an "erection" I could fold in half just didn't seem worthwhile.

@Injustright take a few more days in the hotel, the first days that I know the less you move the better

30 hours and change since I was sliced and stuffed and I am waiting one more day in a hotel before trying to drive three hours home. Debating posting pictures of the fresh bruises but they aren’t all that different from anyone else’s. For right now let me just say thanks to the men who put aside their urges for privacy and discussed their situation on Frank talk. Serving other human beings comes about in many ways!
