Dave, I did have one question though, since UT Southwestern is a training hospital and Doctor Morey trains a lot of surgeons to do IPP surgery, are you sure that he was actually the one who did your implant from cut to stitch? I've seen a lot of people who insinuate that teaching surgeons like Dr. Morey, sign off on work that their students actually perform, and the teacher just oversees, supervises and inspects the work.

I'm just curious if he actually was involved in yours and if so, how does one ensure that a surgeon who also teaches the procedure, is the one who actually does the work?

I'm in Dallas, Texas.

I ended up going to Cape Cod to get my implant done by Dr. Andrew Kramer. He ended up doing three operations on me, a circumcision and a vasectomy at the same time and then I got my implant done at a later date.

He used to have a lot of videos, maybe hundreds of videos, of him doing implant surgeries and revisions. He did and does teach other doctors, but he does all of his surgeries himself. Those are the main reasons why I went to him.

I did go to see Dr. Alan Morey, but he did not guarantee that he would be the one doing the surgery himself, and I saw several other doctors in training when I went. I considered staying local because of the cost. I didn't have the money at the time, and insurance said that I did not need an operation, so I just saved up and went with Dr. Kramer.

The implant is as perfect as can be and the operations went as smooth as can be also. Everything else was also pretty much perfect, from talking with Dr. Kramer and him being available to scheduling to dealing with the staff at the practice and I've been in many hospitals and I have to say that the one in Cape Cod was top notch.

If you or your friend have any questions about anything, you can message me.

He’s also one of the highest rated implant surgeons for AMS implant devices. On top of that he’s incredibly likable and very thorough with explaining everything. I’ve had over 20 prior major surgeries with half a dozen surgeons. I KNOW a competent surgeon when I meet one. He has also done revisions on the so called big three doctor’s patients. I’ve spoken at a number of his seminars he holds for an auditorium full of men seeking answers. UT Southwestern doctors routinely make the annual 100 Best Doctors in Texas. It was another UT surgeon who cured my abdominal issues 15 years ago that ended all my major surgeries. I’ve been taken off a deathbed twice but consider what Dr. Morey did for me to be my greatest medical miracle.

Dr Morey was highly recommended when I looked for a surgeon. However in just over a week I was unable to get a response to my calls from Dr mouth or his staff. Best wishes for those who want to use him.

I’m not seeing the issue here. As far as surgical procedures go an implant is a simple operation. I was introduced to two other doctors before my procedure. I’m assuming they were part of my operation. If Dr. Morey participated in a supervisory capacity of a training surgery how would that negatively affect my outcome? The trainees are learning from the best in Dallas. My procedure was perfect.
