Not convinced about implant

Postby 1380anthony » Mon Jul 25, 2022 2:07 pm

For the past days I have been researching about implant with real cases here, FB and other social media and there is just too many downsides about it. In reality the satisfaction rate is 70% and drops even more for those with penile implants due to mechanical failure and infections. These penile implants have been around for more than 40 years and has no advance maybe because science is too focused in discovering Mars. The more you buy a $8,000 silicone product with saline water, the less Boston Scientific and Coloplast care to make a better, durable and technological product. What a shame!! You stop buying these products they will be motivated to invent something more futuristic and better. I read about loss of size, girth, dog ears, bending when inflating...

I've researching Implantica PotencyFlow, and it seems to be the implant that should have been invented years back. These inplant companies want to sell selll sell and sell and no matter what method they use for implant it seems that the muscles surrounding the tunica albuginea are being damaged too. It's all about money and these companies are gretting rich with cheap products.
ED is a disease tbat has been around since the beginning of mankind and these scientists fail to find a cure by fixing the damaged tissue of the corpus cavernosum and nerves. There is a study that the corpus cavernosum can be rebuilt in mice and it worked. ED is mostly caused by collegen replacing smooth muscle cells( scar tissue) fibrosis. This is just my opinion. For a 30yo with implant, how many implants does he need during his whole life. 4-5???

Used Propecia for hair loss and have PFS. Sucks!!

I've been doing shockwaves, tadalafil daily 5mg,VED, arginine, citrulline, resveratrol ect

I can't understand this anger against implants. You'd better off if you spent more time in studying Propecia side effects instead of IPPs.

If you can have a sex with 5mg tadalafil you're still miles away from any surgery option and life with low dose PDE5 is fine.
But if things will worsen even gaining "only" 20 years of intimacy with a woman won't look that bad.

there are many factors that lead a man to choose an implant, 1) you have to see your degree of ED, 2) your age, 3) if you can have sex with pde5, 4) if once the pde5 does not work you are willing to switch to injections, if you have a dead cock or that does not work with the PDE5 and the injections everything becomes easier to take an implant, if these conditions are not present it becomes more difficult, unfortunately it cannot be denied that the steps in ahead on the implants are really ridiculous, practically they are like the steps forward made on the ED, null, and the unexpected revisions are around the corner, if you have nothing to lose you face the change better, if you have to lose you start to wobble, I am one of those who wobble

As a fellow on his fourth implant, I agree that "they should be better". As a post-RP cancer survivor who couldn't fuck, I can now fuck! Surgeries, revisions, cold head, leaking a little pee...all part of "the price to pay". I'm thrilled to be "an old fucker"... Good luck man!!!

You have to remember most of the implant failure stories are around because guys are ticked off or want to educate others on possibilities. Very few guys with successful implants come and talk about it, they are too busy using it. Besides what's to talk about my working implant other than I can now fuck instead of having a limp dick only good for peeing.
You have to know both sides of the story before you form an opinion. I love my implant. I hated using pills and injections.

Man, the negativity of some of the folks on here is amazing. Listen up 1380, you're young. You've got a way to go before an implant is on the table for you. Once you've run the gauntlet of oral medication, experimental therapies (shockwave, PRP), a VED and injections and you can no longer get an erection, your ass will be setting up an appointment to get an implant. As the other men have said on FT over the years, the hiccups are worth the ability to fuck like a 20-year-old when you're 60.
Fifty-one years old. ED started at age forty. I took Cialis for eight years and used Trimix for almost three. Implanted 12/6/22 by Dr. Jonathan Clavell. AMS 700CX 21cm.

1380anthony, it sounds like you're not ready for an implant. My suggestion is for you to be a control study group of one. Keep doing what you're doing. Please report back in 5 or 10 years about how your ED is. Based upon the many men that have traveled your path. I think these things will fail for you. Don't let the bad odds deter you. They have to work for at least 1 member somewhere on this green earth.
While you're at it. Try more propecia. You might get lucky & its only a temporary side effect. After all, a head of hair is far more important than a youthful erection.

How nice it is this you’ve spent a few days researching the topic. Some of us have spent months and even years diligently looking into everything we could get our hands on, including actual medical articles written by professionals, especially those covering scientific samples of implant recipients. If a few days worth of research has convinced you that they aren’t very good it honestly sounds like you don’t have much tolerance for ambiguity. Fine. Find some certainty even if it’s not really based on fact. You’ll probably feel better as a result.

Just one challenge: give us the cited statistic as to 70% satisfaction rate. That’s from a scientifically derived, representative sampling of implant recipients, not a list of the secret disgruntled customers. I am betting any source you have is ignoring the thousands of happy recipients who find no reason to spend any time online talking about their experience.
Decades+ ED; finally ultrasound showed venous leak+arterial insufficiency. Infrapubic (Yay!) implant by Dr. Karpman 8/9/22; with 13 cm distal, 9 proximal Titan. Cleared for new life 9/1/22 and hoping to make up for lost time.
