Gym and implant

Postby drayan123 » Thu Jul 07, 2022 7:10 am

For those who got a implant I’ve heard a lot of stories where if u lift heavy there is a chance of the implant not working . Does anyone else had issues like this ?

Never heard of that. I work out 3 or 4 times a week. Not heave weights but lots of core exercises. No problem

You will be fine after about 8 weeks IPP to do damn near any gym related activity without issue. Speak with your physician, but no issues experienced here.

I lift heavy, compound lifts.

I was worried to begin with, concerns about the reservoir and so on.

It's not an issue, you will be fine.

Follow your doctor's instructions, and you should be okay.

For me, I couldn't lift anything over five pounds for the first two weeks and two days. Then I went for my first follow-up appointment, and my doctor gave me the okay to slowly resume lifting more.

Doing that, I haven't had a problem.

I have my first follow up today. Day 17 post implant. Everything went well and this was one of my main questions. He told me to wait at total of one month before lifting and be reasonable- to start light and work up. I asked if this had any effect on the life of the device. He said no- that is all from simply using the device. Also, biking should be resumed when feel well enough to do so. Cheers, guys

The only such posts I recall all seemed to involve heavy lifting early in the recovery process.
