I had an infection about 3 weeks after surgery. It was pretty bad. I went and saw my doc and he told me to go to the hospital. Went to the hospital started iv antibiotics. Doc came in that evening and took out the old implant and replaced it with a new implant that same night, AMS. Stayed in the hospital several days on iv antibiotics and went home with a pic line. 10 more days of antibiotics through the pic line. This happened in 2021.

No loss in size. I waited to long before I went to the doc.

How did you know it was infected? Curious what the signs were.

Damn man why so many revisions? It still bothers me that some men have an implant for 15 years and some others have 4 revisions in a span of few years. This is just like a lottery and I am not really known for having any luck in life so I am not really convinced on the implant.
Venous like since I was 20 years old. Pills don't work too well. Thinking of implant in the future

Why so many revisions. Long story.

1st hurt all time at 10 months out and was getting unwanted semis. Semis could not be explained or hidden very well.

2nd I end up with one side of the of the implant herniated 2 weeks after first reversion.

3rd was having the pump moved because it was low I stayed sore would sit on it. Doc thought it needed to be moved.

4th the third revision got infected. That was awful! In the hospital for 4 days and went home on a pic line for 2weeks.

Two different doctors.

Currently all is well. Not sure if this one breaks I could do another surgery.

What an ordeal or stretch of bad luck. Happy to hear that all is well now.

I’m curious about the symptoms and what you experienced when one side of the implant herniated. Was it bumpy or deformed feeling?

The hernia looked like raised bump about the size of a half dollar. The part that herniated was just above my penis on the right side. It had to be fixed. That time they did some extensive work getting the implant back in place. All the surgeries I ended up getting the entire implant replaced.

I have not thought about it in sometime, but all things considered I am pretty good. Dick looks normal, have not lost any size and it does not hurt. The pump is lower than it should be but l can live with that.

Dr Hakky and Dr Christine are the Docs. I would recommend both. I really don’t feel anyone is at fault. It happens.

Why do you think you won't be able to do another surgery? Did your doctor say this? Or you simply do not want to undergo more . Here, many people said that multiple revisions could be done (even more than 5) and there would be no problem. They also said that not being able to get more surgeries was a myth and not true.

Total of 5 surgeries. The last one with the infection, I was super sick. There is no reason why I could not have another surgery. I am not sure I would be up for another. Let’s hope I don’t need one anytime soon.
