Giving up on implants

Postby nuance » Fri Jul 01, 2022 7:24 pm

I'm new here so if this has already been discussed, please point me to the relevant threads. I'm so glad I found this website, it's been very educational.

Has anyone shared what the penis would look like if multiple revisions fail (or if you feel like you no longer want to have sex) and the implant is removed? Will the penis look severely deformed? Will the holes fill up (by then most of it is atrophied) or will it look deflated and odd?

My honest opinion here, and I'm guessing on what your actual situation is right now, but - I think you are worrying about extremely low probability events. Why not think about ways you can maximize your chance of success going down this route?
Titan OTR. Dr. Hakky - successful surgery and very happy with outcome.
My advice: choose a world-class surgeon and make yourself the healthiest you can.

For people that are young like myself (in my 30s), multiple revisions is a real possibility even with the best Dr. Some had gone through 4 revisions in less than 10 years (or even 5) due to faulty implants so I just want to know what the worst case is.

As I had an implant fail, got reimplanted and infected (so again removed for 5 months to heal), then reimplanted. My penis looks the same. Even when out I looked normal.

So, not to worry. My new implant works wonderfully and still looks like a normal dick.

Possibly relevant is the video
“Reimplant After Removal of Infected Inflatable Penile Implant”
on this page:

https://www.vjpu-issm.info/videos/peer- ... plantation

It’s the 6th video from the top at the time of writing.
This patient had complications with his implants and gave up on them for 12 years.

That’s nice to hear that it worked out for you!

Btw are you saying that nothing was in there for the 5 months after your infection, not even a malleable placeholder?

Initial surgeon had place holders in but couldn't get infection (encapsulated in pump pouch made in my scrotum) under control. Changed to best implant surgeon in the Carolinas (specializes in correcting other surgeons errors) Dr. Ryan Terlecki who immediately removed the malleable place holders, removed the infection, and then held off on reimplantation until all signs of any active infection were gone. That meant nothing in place from late October thru March - 5 months - with nothing in there. I did use VED device daily once the sutures were healed until I could be reimplanted. Dr said that the scar tissue made it a very difficult operation, but all went as hoped and wife and I are back at it. I am now within a quarter inch from pre-failure length (6.5") and have maintained my 6" girth.

There’s no reason to remove the implant. There’s a lot of feminine men here who complain but you shouldn’t worry about them because they hate everyone and everything. Also your subject title is kinda suspicious and has nothing to do with your actual title.

I'm happy for you that it worked out but can't imagine the trauma and anxiety during the months not knowing if it will. Is there a risk of losing the entire organ or most of it due to infection? Also do you have pics of what the penis looked like when the implant was removed? How do they check that all signs of infection are gone?

Which approach has a higher risk of scrotal hematoma?
