ED at a young age

Postby Chrisaaa7 » Thu Jun 30, 2022 12:25 am

Hey everyone, first time poster here, I’m usually more active on the main peyronies forum. I am 21(about to turn 22) and have had ED for a while. I am able to get erections but unable to maintain them. Don’t really think it’s performance anxiety because I’ve had the same gf for the last 3 years and she’s very understanding. Im overall really healthy as well. I am thinking it can possibly be from prior porn use but not sure because it has been a while since I’ve stopped watching. I’ve never been able to have sexual intercourse and it’s really starting to get to me mentally. It’s just very frustrating and not sure what to do.

I have 2 different appointments with 2 urologists one on July 15, and one on September 1. Im hoping one of them can help me find out the issue with this and not just give me the “in your head” answer . They both seem to be very good overall based off reviews. I will probably try to get viagra to see if that would help however I am scared and don’t want to be dependent on it from a young age. However, I do not want to get old and have never had intercourse in my 20s. There is no question in this post really, kind of just wanted to throw out some thoughts. Any response is appreciated. Overall mentally im good, it gets frustrating but not really depressed.

I suffered through my 20's/30's/40's and wish too, I had found a practice that gave me the options beyond pills, pumps, patches, injections. NONE of which helped my condition much and gave me horrible flushing/headache side effects. Its horrible.

Advice: be candid with the doc. Ask for doppler testing to rule out that there might be an underlying physical ailment. Ask questions about side effects and efficacy of pills. Injections work for alot of guys - but I couldn't stand the thought of having to carry needles and shoot my penis up for sex. NOPE. Implants are no longer "taboo" and should be considered after going through tests to rule out other ailments or failed use of sildenafil treatments.

Happy to chat. PM me if you want to talk.

The pills are a nuisance but usually work great especially in younger people. You might give it a trial and see as it’s better than the alternative of no sex. I would ask your urologist about daily cialis which can help with nighttime erections and preserve penile health. Good luck.

I get nighttime erections sometimes , maybe like 50-60% strength but usually go away pretty quick when I get up. But yes that is something I have seen frequently and will look into.

You have a gf and you may get a script and then try. I would avoid a doppler at first, overmedicalization of the penis isn't good for confidence.

There could be something in your mind if you had no intercourse. I mean a loop: performance anxiety - > failure - > fear of sex / avoid intercurse - > lack of experience compared to your peers - > more performance anxiety and so on.
Cialis could help you to break this negative feedback which self reinforce. A little bit of dependence from pills while you work around the issue.
Late virginity and lack of experience coupled with porn like expectations / benchmark could be a source of ED. Don't rule out this idea.

Definitely everything you said makes a lot of sense and could be true. In the past I had a lot of anxiety about it so it for sure could’ve been that and I have improved my anxiety and healthy mind set since. I do think the temporary help from viagra would be crucial due to boosting my confidence which I really need. However, I do not want to get dependent on it at a young age. But yeah everything you said makes sense and I haven’t ruled anything out.

Crisaaa7,
You are very young and you should try everything possible before jumping on implant bandwagon. I am pretty confident that your problem is not of organic nature. Porn induced ED is already known and described in medical literature. Porn overstimulate the brain and brain get used to it. So, sex in normal life is not same as tvscreen sex performed by actors and enhanced in film studio. It is different. Phrase, “ it is in your head” might be right in your case.
At your age, I was college student and still worked 50 hrs a week. So, whole week, I was looking for 2-3 free hours I could be with my gf and enjoy every moment. Didn’t have time for porn, video games, no Facebook, no instagram and no cell phones.
My advice is, make your self busy, do something, read a good book, don’t look porn, be creative, don’t think of sex and your ED every minute and everything will settle down, you will be ready when you just see your gf at distance.
I am used and still doing it; kissing my wife’s neck when coming from work and slightly pressing my body to her back. My penis would start growing instantly and she would feel it. That feeling gives us wish to be intimate in a seconds.
Try it.

Thanks for your response. Yes I agree and understand everything you’re saying, I have done a lot of research on ED from porn and thought I could potentially have had it in the past , however, it has been a long time since watching so not 100% sure. I am not jumping on the implant route anytime soon, I stil think I am too young and can recover from this, thank you for your advice
