Pulling the pump down
I’ve read several posts referring to pulling the pump down, apparently to have better access to it. Would someone please explain all the details of this; purpose and procedure, and how you know how much you should be able to pull it down, and when you know it’s down far enough…

Re: Pulling the pump down
My pump was installed low and in the middle of scrotum, Dr told me to gently pull it down a few times a day to be sure it grew in and stayed in the proper place. Mine never migrated anywhere but I still gently pulled it down. After first few weeks I stopped and now at 6 weeks I don’t mess with it but to pump it up. I believe it’s most important in the first few weeks when everything is settling in to keep it in position

Re: Pulling the pump down
My first pump was extremely high. It had no extra tubing so after months of Ved pressure pushing it down it had not budged at all. I had a second surgery to give me more tubing and to put it low above my perineum. You didn't say where yours was positioned? Is it high middle or low.

Re: Pulling the pump down
Right now I’m at 13 days post surgery and I can feel the entire bulb of the pump. It’s probably right in the middle and towards the back. I can also feel the “controls” just above the bulb, but I’m not really sure if I know exactly what I’m feeling, as far as the deflate button or the other side. I can’t feel any of the tubing. It also seems like my left testicle is stuck to the new hardware.
I’m not sure if I should be trying to pull on it or not, and if so how much. But it does seem like if it comes down a little it may be easier to operate. I’ve been putting a little pressure on it, pulling on it, while in the bathtub and it doesn’t hurt, but I’m real careful about it.

Re: Pulling the pump down
For some reason new pumps love to stick to everything. But the worst thing they can stick to is your testicle. If yours is stuck to your testicle then you have the mid position. That's right in between the boys and it is the most likely to interfere with your testicles. The high position sits above them and the low position normally sits below them. I'd say you could probably wait until your next appointment to talk to your doc about it but in the meantime very very very very gently see if you can pull your testicle away from the pump that is supremely more important right now than trying to pull it down

Re: Pulling the pump down
I followed the doctor's instructions and pulled down on the pump the first 3 weeks or so. It never adhered anywhere, and when my sac is loose, it just floats around anywhere it wants. When my scrotum is tight, the pump moves up and back just above my right ball. Never had a problem finding the pump after fully recovered.

Re: Pulling the pump down
The pump is between the testicles and hangs below them. It seems like the left testicle is sticking to the bottom of the tubing possibly. I do think it’s loosened up some over the past few days. I’m soaking in the bathtub for a half hour each day now.

Re: Pulling the pump down
My first (lieing asshole) surgeon never mentioned pulling the pump down. Within 8 months or so it "settled" against my thigh in a way that obscured one of the release buttons. It stayed 2/3 or so hard for several months until Dr Perito fixed it. Dr Perito emphasized "pull the pump down", gently, several times a day. All was well....
PULL THE PUMP DOWN!

Re: Pulling the pump down
This is mainly applicable for those undergo infrapubic method vs prescrotal as its difficult to accessible and place the pump from top into the scrotum so however good the surgeon is there is a high change the pump will be healed high and will be inaccessible. This is not the case in prescrotal ( in most cases) as the pump is correctly placed in the scrotum in low position for easy accessibility
The pulling down should be started in day 3 or 4 and always in hot tub because your scrotum will be soft and the parts are easily accessible. The way to do is to hold the head of the tubes right above deflation block and pull it down and you can feel the pump moves around. You should be careful not to press the pump or the deflation button. Anyways its not easy to press the pump or deflation button so you can hold the tubes on its neck and keep pulling it down softly and slowly and do it twice a day for like 4 weeks atleast. Its down enough when you can feel the bulb/pump down below at your scrotum as below as possible ( you can touch it a bit without pressing it ( like kind of feel it).. dont know how to explain but as close to anus ( that you are able to hold the pump with ur hand going all the way down to touch the pump/bulb with your fingers).. ultimately the objective is to make sure you are able to do the cycling easily when you have to start it and avoid any revisions/another surgery..
Then again all these will be mentioned in the post ops procedure document or the Surgeon should tell you all this( it varies a bit by the surgeon).
I had this same question when I had the surgery hope this is helpful.
