Hi guys,
I’m at the point of really needing an implant and I’m in my 30s but every time I come on here, I just see so many issues, problems, ‘kinks’, niggles, early failures and so on and so on.
As a treatment modality, one could easily be forgiven for believing this is a sub par approach; one fraught with risk and drawbacks.
Can anyone say otherwise?

A lot more success stories than failures on here in my opinion. In my opinion the most important factor is getting a Urologist who does a lot of them and you will get a good result.I think a lot of the failures you read about on here were done by doctors who don’t do very many.Do some research and ask on here about Urologist in your area that do some good volume!Mine turned out perfect!Good luck!

I agree, many posters only post to report problems.
Straying, but somewhat relevant:
I'm on a Holley EFI forum and reading the posts it seems like junk.
I know there can't be that many people who have issues (I hope).

Im 29 and my procedure is in less than 2 weeks. I completely understand how you feel perusing these forums. But you have to keep in mind that this forum is skewed. Most people who get on here have complications or anxiety about the implant. The vast majority of implantees wouldnt be here in the first place. Alot of accounts go dormant once they reach recovery. The most important thing is to choose a high volume implant specialist. Good luck in your decision.

I am in the same place. Some guys are very happy with their outcome but there are enough unhappy guys even with big name surgeons to give me pause. For an expensive surgery that (according to a significant number of guys here) can take up to a year to fully recover from, things need to be perfect, and they need to be perfect the first time.
I think with current technology, there is a nontrivial risk that you are exchanging one chronic medical problem (ED) with another (implant issues). The problem is what are the alternatives. I can wait but by the time something new comes along I will likely have aged out of dating the people I want to date. I am so tired of having to turn down hot opportunities and friends with benefits and watching them lose interest and move along.

Yes indeed the posts will appear skewed. The success stories are busy getting, ah, busy. Think evening news. The nice stories almost never get covered; bad news sells the soap.
Speaking for myself my implant was a resounding success. I perform better than ever since implant 2 years ago going on 3. I did my homework and found a surgeon that was tops in his field in my area. I followed his instructions and the recovery was a piece of cake. Add to that I didn't lose an iota of length. Okay maybe some girth but that's because it's an AMS.

Galactic & Seekonk. If you're looking for perfection? You won't find it. Literally every medical intervention has down sides. I've worn glasses all my life. They suck. High blood pressure & cholesterol meds all have side effects. Even treatments for diabetics is far from fun.
If you ever did have a functional penis. It isn't coming back. Reality is a bitch. Thankfully there are reasonably successfull treatments for ED. Are they perfect, no. But they are measuably better than what you have now.
Please be carefull how you judge this forum. Unless you've went back in the archived post history several years you won't of seen that there is lots of members that have recieved an implant, are happy & quit posting.
Part of the ED process is coming to terms with your condition. Then the real work of finding a good doctor begins. Chin up & good luck.

This is why I am leaving this site. Snarky older members with attitudes talking down to me and others. Younger members that think they are some how unique and that older members opinions aren't valid. And lastly new members posting titles like “I was told men not in relationships never use their implants, please discuss”. I’m not going to talk anyone into getting a implant and I’m sick of writing the same responses. This site used to be a light hearted place that was here to help others but toxic a holes have changed that.

In my opinion, problems will get more air time than success. This is the case with me. After my surgery in 2017 and the resuming of sexual activity, I largely stopped coming on this site. However, once I started having an issue with my implant, I came back to learn as much as I can regarding what my next steps should be.
I think mindset is everything. Some people complain to complain. Some people discuss their problems in a matter-of-fact way to find the best solution. Some share their successes, and others help bring people up.
I understand your concern. I think the best way to look at is all is this: there is a risk no matter what option you go with. This is true in any area of life. The question is probabilities. Point being that there will always be risk with implants. What is your next best option besides implants? Does that option even work?
I'm at the point where I look to mitigate the risks at much as possible, but never fret about it. I also am putting myself in a position financially where any revision I need I can just stick a middle finger up to (as in it won't derail me from my other life goals). If you aren't working on it already, I definitely recommend making more money (sounds cold but it absolutely helps). Or maybe money isn't an issue for you.
I hope it helps you to know that there are those of us out there who are experience problems and we just take the next best steps forward to fix them.

Titan OTR. Dr. Hakky - successful surgery and very happy with outcome.
My advice: choose a world-class surgeon and make yourself the healthiest you can.

Re: Doom & Gloom
Some guys have worst issues with the implants than before they had them and is irreversible and very expensive. Do I want to spend over $20000 for a procedure that can have serious consequences or it has to be replaced more than once in my lifetime?. What it piss me off is how all the implanters lie on their websites about success rates, none of them talk about all the failures, mechanical problems, pain, loss of lenght and girth, penis angle, infection, floppy glands, lack of sensitivity..........
How much is the average life expectancy of an implant? Most the "experts" mentioned between 10 to 20 years, then I found a site with a poll mentioning that most of the guys with implants lasted them between 1 and 4 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I'm only 46 years old, do I suppose to have 4 o 5 revisions? $20000 × 5= $100000

I had a trauma 2 years ago, caused me narrowing, dent and shortening. PRP injections three months ago=worse narrowing, and worse ED. Now I only have two choices: impotent or implant. Born in 1975, in a relationship with girlfriend fir 4 years
