Members with Implant need info

Postby junqdawg » Sat May 21, 2022 8:27 am

Okay folks ..I'll try to be short . I've asked this before with no replies . Maybe I'm not posting correctly .

Thinking of biting the bullet for an implant. Read so many different things on here ,I'm a bit scared .
Understand one goes in Scrotum, that surgery more involved . One above penis , small single incision ETC .

I would like first hand experiences on those who have done it . Which did you select ? Do you lose Length ? read if you use Vaccum Pump pre-op for a few weeks daily you can maintain length . Is this true ? How is firmness ? What about head ,does it stay soft ? I'm 72 . Spinal injury 52 yr ago . Pills stopped a few yrs ago . Quadmix worked but not very romantic if you get my drift . Also pain in ass to make sure you do it right .

Please give me pros and cons . Don't hold back . Will Medicare pay for the implant and surgeon fees . ?
Would you do anything different ? Any Surgeons in Texas DFW area /Houston ?Galveston ? you would recommend . Is the thing obvious that you have it implanted . Please Guys , I'm about to lose wife number 4 and don't want to go SEXLESS in my remaining years . No sensitivity , mainly just want a happy woman .
Thanks in Advance ...Junqdawg

The old board consensus on this was that infrapubic is better for reservoir placement and penoscrotal is better for pump location. But that being said any really good doctor that does either comes down to choice. With infrapubic the scar is more visible and can be larger or even 2 incisions. Depends on the doctor. And there is a nerve bundle that needs to be avoided. Not a problem for any good surgeon. The incision(s) are easier to care for and might have a very slight reduction in infection risk. And another maybe is easier activation as there is less Trama to the scrotum. But the tubing exits the cylinders on the top of the penis and can cause problems for some men. Penoscrotal has less visible or even complete absence of a scar. Maybe better access. Impossible to tell by looking that any surgery was done.

I had penoscrotal with removal of scrotal webbing for my first. I also had a repair with a small horizonal penoscrotal incision. I have no scars. Had no infection. Had no trouble with activation both times from scrotal swelling. Really is up to you and your doctor.

I am 89 years old. I had my implant (Titan) installed 14 months ago. Was using viagra 100 mg alternating with injections (.75ml CPGE 40ugm/ml solution) and Vacuum Erection Pump. Much more convenient now. Down side is the additional bulk in the penis. The cylinders should be made of much thinner and more stretchy material. Resulting erection is more oval than natural. The doctor you select is extremely important. Get a urologist who basically concentrates only on doing implants. Dr. Weinburg at Chesapeke Urology did mine. I think he should have installed one next size longer because I lost about 1/2" in length. Was 6 3/4 inches, now 6 1/4 inches. But my 86 year old wife is very happy.

The previous replies should help.

Nice to see older guys (than me lol) on the forum.

I asked my doctor tor the peon-scrotal approach and he seemed miffed.
I was surprised to wake up with that. I had no issues and healed quickly.

I also asked for the LGX, but he has a bias against using them for 18cm and larger cylinders.
I can't complain about the CX, but there is a bulge near the base on my right side.

I don't really know hard my glans is, but it's a nice size and works fine.

I recommend using the VED prior to surgery and lost no length and even gained a bit since surgery.

Medicare does pay for the surgery, but a lot depends on your second insurance.

Maybe #4 will stick around when she sees what she'll be missing.
