Penile Scrotal VS Infrapubic

1. OK, I still don't have a clear understanding of the difference between the two.

A:Infra pubic: 1 incision above the penis where they stuff all the plumbing through, the resevior goes in the vicinity of the belly button.

B: Penile Scrotal: 1 incision in scrotum all the plumbing goes in through there,

Does this sound right?

2. Pros and cons of each?
3. Which do you have, hows it working for ya?

My surgeon (Dr Ryan Terlecki - Winston-Salem NC) says "Infrapubic is easy on the Doctor and not great for the patient". He said it is the lazy man's way of installing and will only do thru scrotum. The reservoir also goes in thru the scrotum and into the abdomen, so no scars to be seen (as the line already on your balls is the line they open to put it in. Once healed no sign it happened.

Others feel strongly the other way, but I trust my Dr. as a good portion of his practice is fixing other Dr.s implant errors...... Your mileage may vary.

I realize that I'm far from an expert on this. I've watched both methods on YouTube. It just looks to me like there is more manipulating of the penis on the pubic approach.
I know that some have claimed that pubic recovery is easier but some men have easy recoveries using scrotal. Could the easy recoveries on pubic of just been coincidences?
I know that multiple surgeries thru the same scar tissue isn't good. It seems to me that at least in the scrotum they can move forward or back a bit. My surgeon uses the scrotal method. I'm ok with his preference .

IMHO as long as the surgeon is really good it doesn't matter. They prefer specific approach bcoz it works for them and they have proven expertise in that. My doctor(best in the west) does infrapubic and from my personal experience it's great. No pain whatsoever. I have done ICSI before to collect sperm through scrotum so I know how painful it is and how long it takes to recover. You need lots of ice for swelling and it takes longer to heal. Maybe it's more effective. But for me infrapubic works just fine. Again it also depends on age, health factors etc which can also impact pain and recovery process

I’m 50 hours post infrapubic implant. That’s what the Dr I choose uses. I watched many videos and decided on a surgeon who was certified thru coral gables and Dr Perito in Florida to do the infrapubic minimally invasive implant. My first thought is I’m still wrapped in a somewhat soft cast with my gland hanging out the top and my testicals and pump hanging out the bottom. What I like about infrapubic is I can easily feel my pump which is perfectly between their two buddies. I can move it around , wrap my fingers around it and feel the deflate buttons and manipulate it with no pain at all. Can even feel the tubes going out the top and up the side where they disappear beside my penis. Don’t see that happening totally pain free if my scrotum being cut open.. just my two cents worth. There are great surgeons who do it either way and obviously you can get great results either way. More a surgeon choice I feel.

I hope you have a good recovery. How visible/palpable are the tubes with infrapubic? Do you think you or a partner would feel them or be aware of them during oral sex, for example?

Seekonk… I’m now 12 days post op and have never had any scrotal swelling at all but do have a little xtra thickness of the pubic pad just above my penis. So far I can feel the tubing coming off the top of pump which is low and directly between the boys. I can trace it all the way up beside my penis by pushing in maybe 1/4-1/2” in and then it goes deep into the pad area and into the cavernosa deeper than I can feel. Unless it changes after all swelling is gone I don’t see where it would be visible at all and someone would have to pry pretty deep to ever feel any tubing. I think it has to do with the Drs knowledge of how to bury the tubing under some tissue as he comes around side of your penis and down to the pump. So far so good, every day seems to be better and as a whole I have had very little pain.. I’ve taken one pain pill the nite after my surgery and one pill the next morning in preparation for my 300 mile ride in the car as my wife drove me home. Since then it’s just an occasional Tylenol.

I had 2 opinions and met with 3 guys. The Doctor I chose in Miami learned from the high volume guys but only does scrotal. I am very pleased but only 19 days post op.

My main reason for not going infrapubic was because 2 of the guys who showed me their implant, i could see the tube running down the side of their dicks. One guy said it bothered him the other guy not.

I am gay and tend to end up at nude pool parties so the appearance was important to me.

Look at both options but trust your doctor
