Pump location - can it move?

Postby Flip_5 » Mon May 16, 2022 1:24 am

I'm curious for anyone else with the titan, how much can you move your pump around in your scrotum? Is it like having another testicle that has some range of motion or is it firmly lodged in one area and cannot be moved a little bit lower or higher? And has anyone else had a pump placed sideways due to having a small scrotum?

Right now my pump seems firmly lodged at the base of my penis. I was told by the nurse that given that's where it was post-surgery and it has now been six weeks, it's unlikely to move. That would mean a definite revision for me, unfortunately, as I cannot properly pump due to inaccessibility of the pump. But I still have some hope that with more healing it'll detach from the base of my penis and give me more access to it.

Detaching a pump's adhesions to the inside of your scrotum is always possible. Either by manipulating it from the outside or by surgically going in and manipulating or releasing the adhesions with incisions.

Some surgeons use dissolving stitches to hold the pump in place during the early post-op days.

Releasing the adhesions manually after 6 weeks my take some diligence and pain tolerance, but is generally safer than surgery if done carefully. But a surgical intervention may be worthwhile if you absolutely cannot find a way to inflate and deflate in its current location. However, trying all different hand positions and methods would be my first choice (far above surgery) if relocaton by non-surgical means is not possible.

Do you find the tubing is able to move a little with the pump? Like when it's not adhered to anything does the tubing allow for some movement and pull with the pump within the scrotum? Right now my tubing is firmly stuck to the side of my scrotum and holding the pump in place.

Coloplast rep told me that it's likely to free up a little over the next few weeks so hoping that's the case.
