Pulling down on pump

Postby bionicbrother » Fri Apr 15, 2022 4:53 pm

After a lot of struggle ( and changes in my insurance- finally got it approved!!!!) I am scheduled for the implant on May 17th with Dr.Karpman. I live in the bay area would love to meet and make friends with fellow bionics. Lets share contact info guys if you dont mind

In the meanwhile have a question. In the post operative instructions I read "Patients should start pulling down on their pump 3 days after surgery".. What does pulling down the pump means and how to do it without activating the pump? Is it like holding the whole pump and pulling it down ( like pulling the balls?) without squeezing the bulb  ?

Are we supposed to do this so that the pump is easily accessible in future?
40 yrs old. Have ED and PE all my life. Never had penetrative sex all my life. Tried almost all kinds of options( pills, injections, natural therapies etc. Turned Bionic on May 17'22 with Titan by Dr.Karpman infrapubic approach.16cm+2 RTE

Deepanvee,
After 3 days, pulling down on the pump (not the whole scrotum), allows the pump to locate lower in the scrotum. It's an aesthetic thing more than a function thing.
Remember, follow all the doctors instructions.

I think it's quite important. Dr Perito was adamant on it.

My first (botched by my wife's urologist) implant: Among several other problems, my pump "migrated" to a spot by my inner thigh to where I only had access to one of the two release buttons. I could not deflate and stayed about half inflated for over two months until Dr Perito's (first) revision. It was uncomfortable (BUT...I could fuck!!!) There may have been more to it than just pulling down on the pump but upon revision, Dr Perito was adamant about pulling down on the pump. I don't remember the first doctor mentioning it at all.

Good luck man!!!

My take on that general instruction is to just gently hold the pump from the top & very gently pull down. Maybe act like it weighed a little more than it really does. I haven't read of anyone activating the release buttons. I'm fairly certain that a new pump requires a stronger squeeze than just a gentle downward pull.

Gt1956 is correct about activation of the pump. My instructions said that the first activation was to be at the office, and only after a complete review of the surgical area. The doctor showed me how to hold the pump when inflating. After that, he allowed me to inflate and deflate, a couple of times. To be honest, it did hurt a little, but gosh it looked great.

Follow up. Honestly, I haven't ever read a member post that his deflate button was too easy to press right after surgery. Just the opposite, seems like some pumps are quite difficult to master.
