Time for hole to close up?

Postby Vetteman » Sun Apr 10, 2022 12:15 pm

Hey guys-got my ams end of Feb and although my stitches came out a bit early everything is good now. Only concern is the small hole at the base where the stitches were still hasn’t closed up. The doc said it’ll close on it’s own but it doesn’t appear to be closing up much. How long did y’all have before you were all closed up?

My scrotal incision did not have any problem closing, so I cannot answer your question from experience.

How large is the opening and how deep does it seem to be? Is there any weeping or discharge now?

Antibiotics stopped the discharge several weeks ago. It’s about an inch long and I can see part of the tubing.

Have you gotten a second opinion on the advisability of closing this opening?

This is crazy. 7 days to seal mostly. 14 days to be completely healed together. Go see a real doctor. I would be stapling myself back together if that is all I had for a doctor. What country are you in?

My urologist said it could be anywhere from a few weeks to a month. Have a virtual check up this week.
