First Dr visit
Met with Dr Wierschem at Dallas mens health (Texas Urology) on the 24th. Now a week later I have approved insurance coverage and a date for implant of May 18th. Appointment started out TERRIBLY! Dr walked in looked at my file and said your BCBS does NOT cover this….. was like getting slapped in the face as I had spent hours on phone with insurance giving them Dr code number, common cause code number, implant code number and made sure he was in network, and everything else I could think of, and was assured by BCBS of ILLINOIS did in fact cover it… after explaining this to Dr he checked with his insurance lady and said maybe he was wrong and went on with the appointment in the event it was. When nurse called yesterday she said she was shocked as she had never had a BCBS approval as quickly as she had with mine… and also said that the majority of BCBS did not cover.. so the journey begins. Dr Wierschem used the Coloplast and does infra public aproach and explained the whole process to me and allowed my wife and I to check out and cycle a demo unit which was awesome to see. Have a great day my FT friends!

It pays to pave the way. Having your ducks in a row and KNOWING the details helps.
Congratulations on winning this battle with the bureaucratic bully.
