Just the usual -- another member looking for advice..

Postby Beenawhile » Sat Feb 26, 2022 6:44 pm

Hey all -- I surely appreciate all of the "frank" talk concerning your experiences...I could not find answers to some of my personal questions scanning to previous posts so here you go and thanks for considering...

I had a robotic radical prostatectomy in 2018 and then, after poor pathology report, radiation. 4 years out and PSA is still undetectable. Really was not too into sex after that...I had ED issues prior to the cancer diagnosis and Viagra really did not help...so we just set sex on the back burner for a "good" number of years (at least 10)...I finally heard about trimix and used that with some slight success for 8-10 months...on to super trimix for a couple months and on to implant -- the injections never really worked all that well.

I had an AMS700 "installed" 1/28...so, 4 weeks out here in Indianapolis. All is pretty good...I had a urethral sling placed at the same time for some slight incontinence (especially when sexually stimulated). All placed by Alex Tatem, MD.

I do have some numbness on the bottom of my penis as some of you have described in other posts here -- sure hope it resolves over the next months as some of you report. Dr Tatem think it might be related to the anchors for the sling....we'll see...

To my question...at 3 weeks post op I was cleared for use of my new penis....warned to take it slow...that was fine advice as I am still relatively sore...also asked to cycle it couple times a day...pump it up....stretch it around ....try to pump it up some more...and on until I really can't get any more fluid into it. When I get to that point I do feel a goodly amount of discomfort especially in my glans where the tips of the implants are pushing...I try to keep it inflated for 20-30 minutes but that is a chore with regard to pain... Is that the usual for you all? No pain -- no gain? Once it is inflated to that degree my penis is not very mobile ...I can move it in a small circle and a bit side to side but it is pretty stiff and really trying to move it much is very uncomfortable...

I look at all of this as post op rehab and am ok with it if it sounds pretty normal to you all...

I can't imagine trying to use it for sex at that degree of inflation...there is no way I could tolerate her moving on it ...do you all get to the point over time where you can use it at max inflation? I have read some accounts of women not wanting it that hard as is uncomfortable for them...right now I've inflated it to where it is way hard enough for penetration and also to where I can tolerate her grinding on me... I am guessing that as time goes by I will be able to tolerate more stiffness along with someone riding away on it...?

I've had some difficulty with getting to orgasm (and that was an issue prior to the surgery ...certainly, the numbness does not help any) and we are going to try some meds to see if they help with that...all part of the adventure I guess...Undetectable PSA is good but sure would like to get back to more regular orgasms...now that I have a penis again.

I'll stop there -- most of my questions relate to the pain I feel with max inflation and how to use it for sex versus degree of inflation..

It actually sounds like you got a good installation.
I was told that discomfort in the glans from the tips pushing on it means there is a possibility of growth.
That happened to me.

I hope the discomfort when fully inflated goes away.
It all sounds pretty good to me at this point.

The pain and discomfort you are feeling is normal at this stage. It took a full 6 weeks for me to mostly pain free and 12 weeks to be completely pain and discomfort free. Even now at full pressure i get some discomfort in the glans after 20-30 minutes.

I was told "no sex for 6 weeks". I was left ~50% inflated for that 6 weeks and tried to avoid any provocative images. After I was cleared for sex yes the glans was pretty tender but once I was in the saddle the hurt went away. The 1st couple times may not be ideal.
As far as numbness. I had my scrotal webbing trimmed at the same time so In had a bit of numbness on the bottom of the shaft. I had a hair trigger(PE) and that numbness was a blessing. I had no time limit. After about 6 mos the numbness eased and now, after 1+ years, no numbness and I have reasonable control

I wasn't aware of a medication for the anorgasmia / trouble orgasming that you mentioned until on this site for several months. I have cabergoline for treating that problem. Its not a 100% solution but helpful.
Good luck

I am of this philosophy.

Shared some evidence here about the use of a VEDs to help regain/gain more size: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=18561&p=169469#p169469

Note that I have zero experience or knowledge and am not really very smart all things considered, but from what I've been reading and hearing and kind of just assuming is really damn obvious is that this is our penis, quite the important body part and it's a bit sensitive, to say the least. Of course it won't be easy, but patients with modern devices are reporting regaining/gaining more penis size. One would reason, it'll take some exercise to get there, and it won't be easy, but it's worth it.

What you mentioned about how it feels uncomfortable, I think I can give you some really good advice about this. I'm keeping a chronicle of my efforts to regain size. Pre-implant, my length was 8.75". For first month post-implant, I dropped over 2" down to 6.5". So I started exercising it, a lot. 7 weeks post-op I wrote this:

December 22 (7.5"x5.2"): After bending and pulling and stretching my penis in every direction, it feels uncomfortable and very sore after. The next day? It's not sore anymore. And it's bigger.

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=18385

I know exactly how it feels when you pump as much fluid as you can into it and it feels sore and uncomfortable. It's like there's too much fluid in the container. I'd say that means you're expanding it. More you pump in, more expansion. Logic would tell you to keep filling it up and expanding it, i.e., making it bigger. Inflate it to the max, and deflating it pretty often to cycle it back, then do it all over again. Rinse and repeat.

By January 1st i'm already back to 8". So basically over two months I went from 8.75" to 6.5" then back to 8".

Currently I'm hovering around ~8.4" plus or minus half a cm or something or different occasions. I don't know if my size will stay there, but I'm trying to make sure it doesn't.

thanks again to all -- sounds like I am on the right track and glad to hear that the soreness is normal and, actually, a sign that I am stretching it....

Lester I will PM you and talk...thanks of the offer.
