Cycling/ time pumped up

Postby jimmi85 » Sat Feb 26, 2022 9:57 am

What dictates one surgeon to leave a patient partially inflated for 2-3 weeks and another for only a few days and what dictates one surgeon to start cycling a patient after 7-10 days and another 3 weeks?

This might be a really naive question but I’ve been wondering why there isn’t a universal protocol for both above points.

What are the advantages/disadvantages for being left 50-60% pumped for three weeks before cycling as opposed to being left deflated? If you are pumped up 50% are your tissues still being stretched or is this only applicable at max pump? Will cycling be less painful if your are left inflated?

Thanks

Of course this is just my opinion and I am not an authority on this just an observer. As far as from doctor to doctor I would say it has mostly to do with the doctors interest in the surgery. Some doctors and areas really have little interest in this. Could be because insurance reimbursement is low. Could be because there is a cosmetic element with this. Could be because you will not die from ED and the doctor wants to address things that can. The surgery is trained to doctors but some do not look to improve on that training. My local doctors only did 2-3 a year each when I checked 4 years ago and activation after surgery was 8 weeks. Some doctors have a lot of interest and have developed procedures to prevent infection and I would guess to also permit a man to activate earlier. As far as from one man to the other with the same doctor it can be more work and tissue that was disturbed during the operation or even the man's tolerance for pain.

This would be one of the questions to ask prior to surgery. After surgery you should follow your doctors instructions as the doctor knows what he/she had to do and how good they are.

I would compare this to top notch plastic surgeons or orthopedic for professional actors and athletes.

There is a paper in the documents worth reading thread in the general section of this forum that covers the "Coffin Effect" that covers the advantages of early activation and the disadvantages of longer activation.
