Almost 3 weeks after implant- looking for advice/knowledge

Postby Elyrev » Wed Feb 09, 2022 9:44 am

Implanted 1/20 with Dr Hakky. I have had an easy time of it so far- I did not experience a lot of pain and never needed pain meds or ice. I have been uncomfortable at times and sitting for too long still starts to get to me. But overall, pleasantly surprised - I was expecting misery the first two weeks. I have a few questions of what to expect and how long it took for certain things to happen for others.

1. Cycling and size. I began cycling after the first week and increased a couple days ago to twice a day for about 25-30 minutes each time. I find doing this in a hot shower helps. The worst pain I have experienced so far is squeezing the bulb on the pump- it is pretty stiff and I really feel like I am pinching and brushing the skin on my testicles- How long does it take for the bulb to soften up? Size- I am somewhat happy with size, not quite what I had before- but I have read that with cycling over a few months guys have experienced recapturing some size. I am about 6” flaccid now and 6.5” cycling- is it unreasonable for me to expect to get another inch back in length and maybe 1/4 or 1/2 inch in additional girth in the next few months if I cycle aggressively? Dr. Hakky also told me I should start VED at week 4- I have another follow up appointment with him then.

2. Some natural function? I had about 50% natural function before implant. I just could rarely get hard enough. While I am not expecting any natural erections again, getting a little blood flow maybe 10% would be nice when a good looking girl walks by or when you kiss someone. I have read some guys have some natural function after implant. So far, when I have kissed or hugged my partner- I get a little twinge down there, but not enough to really say much engorgement. For those who experience some natural function after implant - is this something that happened for you right out of the gate or did you start to get some of this back over time as you healed?

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you.
Age 54, venous leak and some scarring, tried daily/occasional Cialis for awhile then a few months various doses of tri/quad mix. Either helped and would produce 50-60%.erections, but never really full. Implanted 1/20/22 26cm” Titan- Dr. Hakky

Welcome to the brotherhood!

Yes, the bloody bulb/pump takes some time to get used to/broken in, in my experience. I would estimate that it took ME maybe... 4 months post-op before I felt totally comfortable with it and it with me? Today, pumping is no problem; malleable bulb, quick to inflate, and deflate, no discomfort. I am so happy with it!

I can't speak to what gains you might experience moving forward but if it's this early and you're looking for another .5 inch - I would remain optimistic if I were you. I gained a whole inch, possibly more, after two months of cycling. Hakky recommends VED post-op? Interesting. I put mine away after surgery, I may give that a shot for the hell of it.

I had nerve-sparing RAP and I definitely have some natural function returning after 6-7 months. What usually got me 'chubbed' up still does today (not hard, chubbed). My implant doc said my tip would likely not be hard after being implanted. Happy to report, my tip looks and feels the same when pumped up and I am in the mood for go time.

Dude congrats. You are right where you want to be - not even a month out! Trust the process and keep doing the cycling twice a day and you will rebound fast. I might suggest attaching a signature with your age, type/brand of implant - it will improve your feedback.

Best to you brother - JD

Edit - sorry, I see you have a signature!

Glad to hear you’re doing well. It’ll take a few months for the pump to soften up as well as getting used to inflating/deflating. Feel free to contact me if you have further questions. Call Dr. Hakky’s office for my number if you don’t have my card.

Good to hear your healing is going well.
My bulb was tough as hell at first. Now it has softened up some but still hard to squeeze.
Deflating at first was my hardest thing. I couldn't find the little button between the swelling and soreness. Had my sack so sore the doc couldn't deflate me until 5 1/2 weeks post. That's a long time to have a 60% erection!
I had very little natural function before my implant. Maybe once a month morning wood that would shrink as soon as I tried to do anything with it. Any stimulation would get me a semi at best.
Never got any info on cycling until I found FT at 5 months post. Many say that's the key to regain size.
Now at 2+ years with it things are great. I do get some twinges down there when the wife starts loving on me. It is so much better than do I need to take a pill tonight? Or jumping out of bed after getting warmed up to go inject. What a mood killer that was. I'm sure once you are fully healed you'll love being implanted.

Elyrev — re VED post-op, do you know if you would do it inflated or flaccid?
Thanks
