Dr. reference

Postby Rider1400 » Tue Feb 01, 2022 10:38 am

After several failed attempts to find out if my Blues Cross Blue Shield of Illinois would cover my implant,FINALLY!!! Got the proper code numbers from Dr and after only one hour on with BCBS was able to confirm that YES!!! It is covered!! Was an awesome day!! Now… planning on using Dr Wierschem at Dallas mens health. His sight says he’s in the top 95% of implanters in the nation. Also see that he is certified by coral gables in Florida(Dr Perito)and uses the minimally invasive pubic approach . Any input on this Dr would be appreciated. By the way the codes they gave me was as follows.. and obviously the surgery will have to be submitted for approval by performing Dr.
Dr code for Wierschem 54405
Implant code C1813
Common Diagnosis. N52.01
Not saying your BCBS is same as mine. I did discover that there are dozens of different states representing BCBS and mine is Illinois.. although I live in Arkansas and the Dr that is in network is in Dallas.
I’m having an aquablation of my prostate as soon as it can be scheduled and then whatever time period they suggest to wait and then on to implant!

Don't know anything about your doctor, but if his online reviews are good you might have to trust that.
Went through pills then injections before my implant. Both worked good for a while then started failing for me. Hope you find the injections work well for you.
As far as insurances, many want to see if ALL the options have been tried before paying for an expensive surgery. Nice you found out your BC/BS will pay. Next you need to figure out what your co-pay will be and save some cash. My insurance left me with a $3,400 co-pay, plus the doctor's fee of $400. Ouch. But it was worth it.
Good luck going forward.

you sound sold on your choice of docs -- if you want another possible, Dr Levine is at Rush in Chicago -- great reputation on FT.
75, used pills, injections -- all lost effectiveness. Titan implanted by Eid in Feb '22.

Old guy, I’ve been injecting for 14 months. Started at 5units and consistently gone up and now at 30 units. More aching than I’m comfortable with and getting a bad positional issue. If I’m on my back it don’t get but 70-80%. Also developed a little scar tissue you can feel on one side. Need to update my profile, done with injections as soon as I can reasonably get the implant after this prostate aquablation thing I must get done
CRAZY, I’m mostly interested in Wierschem due to him being 4-1/2 hr drive from me and his ratings. Yep, pretty set on him after reading all I can find out on him. Thanks for the responses

Dr Hakky in Atlanta. I had no pain after all my surgeries with him. He’s very down to earth and talks to you in plain terms. He’s great.
Revision 2/13/24 Dr Tariq Hakky, Atlanta (Great Doctor) Titan 24XL no Rte’s. I’m 62 married. I have had numerous revisions due to product and body failures. Always had a Titan ipp.

Clavell in Houston is amazing! Highly recommended, respected, and knowledgeable! Great bed-side manners, answers any questions before, day of, and after surgery day or night!
