New guy and question

Postby Lil Willy » Sat Jan 29, 2022 5:40 pm

Hello all
Would one or several of you experienced AMS 700 veterans please advise me as to what I am not doing correctly.

Implanted 12/30/21. Trying to use pump bulb , after pushing deflate button , might get the pump bulb to squeeze one time. Then rock solid again. Have tried that process several times. Same results.

Any one had the same issue. Please advise.

Thank you..

Mine does that. Squeeze once and get a little movement of the bulb. Squeeze a second time and the bulb is stiffer.

Yours apparantly gets a little bit more stiffer than mine does. My suggestion is to squeeze harder and more suddenly. Use both hands if necessary. Ultimately, you should get a sudden collapse of the pump bulb. Then you will be able to start actually moving fluid.

At least that is how mine worked. As the valve gets used more and more it ges a little easier to do. Or my hands got stronger.

DO NOT LET the pump bulb slip out of your grip! Your fingers may hurt you on testicles or scrotal skin. I found (for me, with my pump location where it is) that holding the valve body steady with one hand's thumb and forefinger reaching over the base of my penis, the other hand could squeeze the pump bulb with no fear of the bulb escaping.

Good luck.

When mine switches to inflate mode I feel a pop. If that does not happen on the first squeeze then almost always on the second. And heat, heat, heat! It makes a world of difference. I had very good luck with a heating pad but others use hot baths if you have been cleared for them.

Thank you both.
Great information from you guys. Yes I have learned about a good grasp.. Dont see the Dr again till the middle of Feb.
Tried very hot bath and soaked everything for a while. That's the only way I got any movement out of the pump bulb.
That was both thumbs & all the pressure I could muster, holding pressure on it I finally felt it move. Only once. No way to get a quick sudden hard push.

Will keep trying, and will just have to wait till middle of Feb.

Thanks guys.

watch the ams video on pumping. pay attention to which fingers used. 2 thumbs wont get it. Hold tubes right near the valve block to stabilize the pump. Squeeze the pump between your other thumb and about the crease in your index finger between the second and third joint, or thumb and second joint. My. doc said to squeeze more towards the valve block to keep the bulb from slipping out and crushing a testical.

Hello all
Making some progress, pump bulb still extremely hard to move, and dont ask how it is being done. After 2 maybe three pumps , using the deflate button , hear a buzzing sound and Lil Wiley shrivels . Plan to keep working at, and right now it seems like work.

Thanks to all

Yes you have different stages of work. The first is getting ready for surgery. The second is healing and infection avoidance after surgery. Then the work of cycling when you are activated. They are all important and you need to do your best to follow your doctors instructions. Healing can take a lot longer. It is not unheard of for it to take months to be fully healed.

My Pump/valve block buzzes when deflating from the fluid going back into the reservoir. How I know it is reset fully is it will continue to buzz after I release the deflate button. There is also a faint click that I can feel when I depress the deflate button sometimes that lets me know it is in deflate mode. And as I said there is a pop in the bulb that lets me know it is in inflate mode.

Keep up the good work. Cycling is really important and you need to follow your doctors instructions for cycling as much as you can.

Thanks
Dont know what Doc is going to say, however he did give me all the information in the AMS packet.
No other instructions. Dont know why I am only getting several pumps before things lock up again. Will have to push and release deflate button to verify complete release.

Thanks.
