My Titan quit after 12+ years. The pump stopped moving any fluid even thought the bulb felt like it was performing normally. Since I hadn't used the implant I did not seek a diagnosis or repair.

My AMS LGX failed in November after 7 years. It started to leak when pumping up and I felt stinging from the saline in what I guessed was the area of the leak. I tried pumping some more but could not pressurise the cylinders. I deflated and tried again but the pump bulb would not re-inflate. I then visited the urologist who did the original surgery. He tried to use the pump but quickly confirmed a leak, the saline had been lost, and I needed a new implant.
I suggest you see the implant surgeon you used or another who is familiar with the product. Good luck.

Martinh. I'm going to use you as a perfect example to those that doubt how long implants last. It appears that 10 years ago you received your implant. You haven't mentioned having any trouble with it so I presume all went well for 10 years. Then one day you had a problem. Like many other people you jump on the internet looking for some advice. You found FT & recieved prompt answers.
The point is, that without any complaints you didn't search out FT. Some doubters point to the men that have issues with their implants. They then assume that ALL implants fail early & are problem plagued.
Thanks for your post & keep us up to date on your revision. Best of luck to you.

Thanks Gt1956. Yes I am a recent member of FT and joined after researching lifespan data of the AMS LGX following the failure of my implant after 7 years. As you suggested it was trouble free for that time and getting the implant was the best health decision after my RP in 2011. I now wish I had had the implant as soon as possible after the RP rather than go through the pain and problems with injections which for me were a disaster. While it would have been nice for my first implant to have lasted longer, I always knew that I would need a revision at some stage, and possible more than just one. I did not hesitate in booking a revision and surgery was about 5 weeks after the failure and now the new implant is 8 weeks in place and is getting a thorough workout.
I joined FT as I thought my experience may be of some help to others. My post to Merlinthewise1 was made on that basis as his pump malfunction is similar to my experience and his implant is 10 years old. I may be wrong in thinking his implant has failed hence the advice to see his Urologist.

I searched and joined FT when considering implant and have been a steady contributor ever since. My AMS 700 CSX lasted only 3 years. Using the car tire analogy, all tires will wear out after 40k miles but can blow out at any point in their life. The statistics are misleading, while most implants last 10 years, the early failures skews the expected life. There are no super implants to offset the early failures. You will probably last 10 years. You might last 5 years. You will not last 20 years.
