I had an implant about 6 months ago. All was going well. Most of the soreness had gone and sex was good. Then one night I had an aortal disection. Had emergency open heart surgery. Nearly died. This was a month ago. When I woke up in the ICU they had a cathoder in my penis. A few days later that remoned the cathader. I had bad fluid buildup in my hands, feet, arms and penis. My penis and sack were swollen beyond recognition. Was like that for the 9 days I was in the hospital. They gave me meds. To get rid of the fluids and swelling. Well, my penis is back to normal. The implant works fine. All seems well except that it is a little tender.?kind of like right after I got the implant. For several weeks now I have been pumping up for 30 minutes a day. Have had sex a few times with great success. No fever or redness. Just a little tender. Not getting any worse. Hoping the tenderness will go away. What would the symptoms be if this were an infection?

Wow, what a trip you've been on. I hated the catheter after my implant surgery. My guess is after 9 days with it in you it irritated everything inside your penis, especially since you're not that far post surgery. An infection would continue to increase in pain, redness and swelling I believe. I'd give it a couple weeks and if things don't settle down visit your uro.

I had hernia surgery 5 months after the implant was installed. No catheter problem at all.
