Burst Titan

Postby titanmaster » Tue Aug 31, 2021 2:01 pm

Hi all, been away for a few years from this forum but just wanted to let you all know what recently happened - about 3-4 years prior to having my Titan put in. I went for a horse ride yesterday on holiday for 2 hours, it was a gentle treck and didn’t even go fast eg canter or gallop but it felt uncomfortable while I was riding. Thought this was just normal as it’s a long time to be in a saddle. Turns out the horse ride burst my implant and now there’s no saline to pump. Totally flat and now need to go back and have it all done all over again!

Maybe on the plus side they can fit me with a longer one as I’ve heard the 2nd time around can be longer a bit but I’m only grasping at positives to try and make myself feel better tbh! Very fed up is an understatement.
Titan Coloplast implanted in 2017, had a revision op 2018 to fix the tubing issue at base of shaft and then just had a total new replacement 2022 due to horse riding (not even cantering!)

Good luck on your revision. I'm betting on a tubing failure over a burst cylinder. But either way. Keep everyone informed. It does give everyone another data point.

Interesting, keep up updated on where the failure occurred when you find out. I've been weary of riding motorcycle or ATVs due to fear of similar even though its unheard of.

That’s what I thought. Didn’t even have a clue it would affect my pump whatsoever and very surprised it did. Will keep you posted.

I ride a quad almost daily training bird dogs. When I see rough terrain I stand on the pegs. I also have an Artificial urinary sphincter. It is not supposed to leak. I start to leak as soon as I put my leg over the bike, even before I start moving.

I actually have a hard time riding my quad very fast. I am usually going slow if pulling a mower. It seems I am always rearranging the pump.
Much easier using my tractor or zero turn seat.

Good luck. I got a cm added to my cylinder on the revision after it mysteriously quit working after hernia surgery.
18 cm plus 1 rte titan installed March 2019. Revision March 2020 by Dr. Andrew Todd, Richmond KY. He replaced the titan with an AMS 700 LGX 18 cm cylinder plus 2 rte for 20 cm total length.

I’m being referred back to where I had the implant done in London (uclh). It’s going to be hard as I now live 180 miles away from there but I wouldn’t trust anyone local to sort it out.

Out of interest, I’ve not really been happy with the girth of the Titan as it’s oval shaped and flat. Would people recommend the LGX 700 over the Titan now? I feel out of touch and just wondered if technology has moved on at all 4-5 years later since I had it initially installed?

I don't think LGX will give you good girth. CX has better girth, but LGX is known for expanding in length.

This is the problem with implants.
Once implanted, your cock and balls are no longer 'mashable', and the owner has to cognizant of that fact. Every time I sit down, sleep, or even walk, I am constantly reminded that all is not as it once was and I have to move accordingly.
