Does anyone actually regret it?

Postby considering89 » Tue Aug 03, 2021 1:24 pm

I'm heavily weighing the implant decision and want to ask this.

Is there anyone who has gotten an implant and after the fact regretted it? Maybe thinking, "What if I wasn't 'bad' enough before to go through with this? Did I really need to do something so extreme?"

I'm not talking about surgery complications/infections/etc. -- let's say your implant works fine and the surgery went well. I'm talking about any psychological regrets or struggles to accept that this is the "new you".

Or, is having an on-demand, Dick That Doesn't Quit so amazing that it drowns out these thoughts?

Of course there are regrets.

For many of us there is the money. So many things that could have been done with that.

Some men experience a loss of sensation. This has been reported in a number of threads here. Most of the time it comes back, but maybe not as much as before the implant. Nerve damage takes an extraordinarily long time to heal and sometimes never does.

The loss of spontaneity is something some men and some partners miss. To watch an erection grow of its own accord seems to ratify a woman's self-worth and desirability. Male partners, too, but I suspect not as much as females. "He doesn't need me to have an erection." is a devastating sentiment compared to "He desires me so much that an erection comes up spontaneously." The erection as a barometer of a man's feelings.

I miss the urgency of my old erections. Whenever I got an erection, its rarity provided a lot of its value. It was like a coupon for a free meal (or a sex romp) with a VERY close expiration date.

None of those regrets mean a fraction of the joy I have with having erections as robust as I have now.

So, count me as one with, once the votes are in, my regrets pale in comparison to my happiness and satisfaction.

I'm with beachbum.... my only regret is waiting around 5yrs too long. There are always pros and cons , but for someone who was dead set against an implant to begin with I couldn't be happier!

What I may actually miss are things that I already lost years before having my implant. So, no regrets.
The only regret may come if a (revolutionary) ED treatment comes that may solve all ED issues, which is unlikely to happen in the next 2 decades.

Not me...I'm in the middle of my first cycle and I have an erection (I'd bet I'm not the only one)! It works with my wife with some adjustments for age. I wish I had had it done when ED first struck.

I have no regrets.

Things have gone well for me. Insurance covered the surgery. My surgeon was great. After a few months, I was able to have sex without any discomfort and with strong sensation. I'm happy with the appearance of my dick, both inflated and deflated.

And, most importantly, I now can have a reliable hard on in a minute or two of pumping. Things had been really bad for a long time for me. This is so much better than how I was functioning for years.

My only regret is, I didn't get an implant when I was 30. I feel like, I missed the best years of being a complete man. I am 57 now, I love my new penis, it is thicker than pre-op, it doesn't look fake and it gets rock hard for as long as I want. I am single, having the time of my life. I am a new man, confident, no more depression and anti anxiety medication. I have never been this happier before.

No regrets. I’m almost 60, gf is a super sexy package mid 40s. Says she’s secretly turned on by the idea of bionic D. Can take my time starting then pleasure her til she taps out
Had a good doc, insurance covered. Injections worked great but broke the flow. Sensation is better than before. Best decision I could have made. Confidence is a 10+
