Dental surgery and infection

Wonder if anyone has guidelines about using antibiotics for dental surgery after having an implant. The dental surgeon is clueless and asked for a clearance from my GP who is also clueless in this field. Anybody know of any reliable articles on the subject ?

For years my dentist has instructed me to premedicate (Amoxycillin) before any dental procedures because of my surgical/medical history. I think this is pretty routine everywhere.
Dave, 80, Maryland - Implant (Titan) 2008 by Dr. Andrew Kramer (failed Sept 2020) - never used due to a stroke that, among other things, ended my sex life.

I have 2 metal staples in my left heel and back in the 80's they wanted me to pre med for even a cleaning. But that has changed and I no longer do it. Might be for a certain amount of time. Ask your urologist who did your surgery.
Injections failed. Implanted 3-21-18 AMS 700 LGX 21 + 1 RTE 100 cc reservoir 6.5" L 5" G Dr. Kramer.

Proximal Perforation Sling Repair 4/13/21 Dr. Broghammer

67 years young.

Will show and tell and talk with others.

Your implant surgeon is the one who should answer this question. Give their office a call and ask.
56yo, NYC. ED started at 40. Pills, then shots for 10 years. 24cm Coloplast Titan XL w/classic pump by Dr Eid 3/25/2025. Will meet for show & tell.
