Reservoir question

Postby fade3W » Wed Jun 23, 2021 6:35 pm

Just hit the 4 month mark with my implant, things are pretty good. Nervous about my reservoir though.

In the beginning I couldn’t feel it, but I could feel it fill with the saline as I deflated.

The pst couple of weeks I haven’t been able to feel it as it fills back up when I deflate, but I can feel it on the outside of my skin—almost as if it shifted a bit? It’s not bulging out like I’ve seen on other pics online so I don’t think it’s herniated, but is it possible for it to “shift” once I’m done healing (or still healing)?

I’m not a big guy (5’ 10”, about 170 lbs) so I suppose being able to feel it isn’t the end of the world, just wondering if anyone else has had this experience.

There’s no pain at all

It takes some time for scar tissue to form around the reservoir to where it becomes encapsulated. I had the same issue, talked to the surgeon, and got a medical explanation.
You should be good now.

Thank you for the reply, stmfttr.

I know I’m probably overthinking it, so it’s nice to be reassured.
I was just nervous that I might have disrupted the reservoir with some rough sex. It wasn’t that wild, but still. Maybe too early for that

3 months after my IPP, I started getting a bulge and pain near the reservoir site. Turned out to be a ilengual hernia which I had to get repaired. The hernia was probably from adding to much pressure during my radical prostatectomy. That surgeon screwed everything else up that sent me on the road of ED.

Once in a while I can feel my reservoir if I bend in the right position, but there's no pain. It's an odd feeling and you know something is there. I'm 5' 11" and 172#.

My surgeon had pointed out where on my body the reservoir was.

But now, when I pump, I feel the saline moving a little lower than where he pointed.

Is shifting possible does anyone know? There’s no pain, but I don’t want to do anything that can damage the reservoir or cause it to herniate.

The local urologist can’t see me until September, so I might fly to see my surgeon earlier. Not sure what else to do.
