How much time off work?

Postby wolfpacker » Tue Jun 15, 2021 9:53 am

Getting ready to schedule my leave from work for implant recovery- I sit at a desk all day so won't be doing any hard labor. How long do you guys think I need to schedule to be off of work after my implant procedure with Dr Eid?
Early 30s with ED for years from penis enlargement stretching and jelqing. Implant by Dr Eid on 24 June 2021 with a Titan 24cm with +1cm RTE on one side and -1cm cut off on the other side

So I pump it up, wait a while, then deflate. But after that, do I need to squeeze the pump again one more time to “lock” it, i.e. to pr

For me, it was a gradual return to work starting about a week post op. Sitting on my scrotum was uncomfortable for weeks (not painful) so it was hard to concentrate..even with a donut cushion.

If you can work in bed or at a standing desk that might help.

wolfpacker,
I took from Wednesday (surgery day), stayed overnight, home Thursday and following Monday I worked all day (10 hrs).
I am working from home and sitting at the computer all day long.
Just need to stretch my legs almost every hour for a few minutes.
Sitting was uncomfortable for about 2 weeks.
I was 55 and in very good shape.

I didn't go back to work until after my two-week follow-up appointment. That was when my doctor deflated me from the 60% inflated state he left me in at the end of the surgery.

Even then, going back to work was challenging for a while. I'm on my feet, moving around a fair amount in my job. Managing with the new implant, which is quite stiff even when deflated, took some getting used to.

I had surgery on April 12 and went home the next day. I work part time, Wed-Thu-Fri-Sat one week and Thu-Fri-Sat the next. I went back to work on April 28. I don't lift heavy loads...maybe 20 lbs at most. Although I sit a lot, I walk 1-2 miles on a 6-8 hour shift so on the whole it was good for me. I work at my own pace, so to speak. I had spent the previous two weeks with lots of ice and mostly sitting or lying down.

I asked my uro about it over the phone and, after I explained all that, he said that it was ok. I tend to heal quickly anyways. Almost all of the swelling was gone by then. The only problem was the sensitivity of my scrotum, so I wore my David Archy shorts so I could tuck the material between my legs and scrotum. It worked. BTW, my scrotum is still sensitive where the pump rubs my legs.

Oh, I also had problems sitting in my chair in such a way that the pump didn't bother me. Sitting on the edge of the chair was a partial solution. Otherwise, it was a matter of grin and bear it.

Light duty, I hope. The longer you can stay horizontal, the quicker swelling and bruising goes away.

My doc suggested to be vertical. He wanted my dick to hang. I was horizontal for 2 days max.

Related question to the OP: what do you guys tell friends/family that you're going under surgery for? I'd really like to get mine done by Dr. Eid but given that I'm Canadian that raises even more questions--especially in regards to work, hahah.

Anyone have suggestions as for a story to tell people who ask?

Mk, my case is similar to you, but my time off was shorter. I had the procedure on Tuesday, came back home Wednesday morning, and went back to work on Thursday. Luckily, I was working remotely, but sitting Thursday and Friday was difficult.
I know this rush back to work wasn't a good idea, but I had no choice. It delayed my healing. At one month, at my activation appointment, I was still very sore, so doctor told me to wait 2 more weeks for sex. But things went to normal after that.
