Well…made surgery date for 6/24/21. Been told it’ll be the AMS 700 LGX. To say I’m scared silly is an understatement, but having been lurking on FT for a while I realize everyone is before hand. I want to thank you all for the HOURS I’ve spent reading your advise, stories, worries and experiences as well as your recoveries and successes. My hope is this all goes well. Bless all of you and I’ll make it a point to follow up and let you know how this all goes.

Welcome to the forum, Jimmy1.

Congratulations on taking the bold step. Kudos for reading and researching.

I have to take issue with one part of your introductory post (out of exceptionalism, I suppose). I was not scared silly beforehand. I spent 14 months researching surgeons until I found one in whom I had confidence. That, and the fact that there was virtually no usable erectile function to go back to if the operation failed took away all trepidation. I also never had that "What did I DO to myself!?" moment that many men have in the early days of recovery.

Take heart. You are on your way (back) to a better sexual (and hopefully, emotional) life. I look forward to your progress reports.

Welcome and best of luck on your surgery. Having found Frank Talk before is one of the best things you could have done. There is so much info here that any man should know before taking the final step.
I didn't find this great site until 5 months after my implant. There sure would have been more talk and exploring different surgeons if I had found it before.

Congratulations and best of luck on your upcoming surgery.
Decision is always difficult part of this process.
You will start counting your blessings once you start using your implant.
Hope you found experienced implant surgeon.
That is biggest part of the successful implant.
Take it easy and relax.

You are doing OK. Having the date is the biggest part of moving forward. Don't let angst and anxiety deter you from regaining your sex life. I had my surgery during February and I couldn't be happier. I have control again and never worry whether the equipment will work when needed. Yes--it is a big step, but I, like many others here, wish I had done it years ago. There will be difficulties, pain, and doubting ahead of you, but persevere! Hopefully, like most of us, the best is yet to come.

If you have specific questions or concerns, feel free to contact me.

Also--after surgery ask for a handheld urinal. Trust me--it works a lot better than trying to aim for the toilet when your penis is mummified in gauze. AND remember, ice, ice, ice!

Understand the reservation. I had it, it’s natural. There’s a stigma about sex and a “natural” functioning dick…so we swallow pills, swing black cats counter-clock-wise, drink magic teas, take herbs, do weird stuff so we can fuck…meanwhile the psychi goes down the tube…then one day after injecting tri-mix, laying on the table watching a doc sticking a big-ass needle in to drain your throbbing erection am wondering if this what life is about? lol
After that I never looked back. Am 4-weeks post surgery…fully functional. The change is beyond physical and sex…in hindsight I wish I listed to my doc a year before but that’s water under the bridge..
Lots of great advice on this site…one thing I’ll add, intentionally and attitude, ok that’s two. I went into surgery with a vision that I would have a great experience, easy recovery and be fully functional. I have no regrets and yes, my surgery was success.
Your surgery will be a success too!
Good luck!
