How Long Before I Can Drive Comfortably After Surgery?

Postby Cigar56 » Fri Jun 11, 2021 3:43 pm

I am semi-retired but have a part-time gig that requires some driving during the day, including getting in and out of the car several times. For that level of activity could I expect to be back at work after 6-8 weeks or might it be longer?

Thanks!
I've tried everything -- pills, injections pumps -- and now I am at the final frontier.

I was driving at about 7 days. Definitely more comfortable at 10 days+.

Depends on how you are healing, but for me, it was about 10 days.
6 miles to the Metro here in DC, then riding down to Pentagon.
You may have to be careful the way you sit down, but mostly, I'd say after 10 days, max, but that all depends on your healing.
Gingerly getting in and out of car with your implant...just say its your back, lol.

I was driving by day 6 to the grocery store, bank etc. Made a 250 mile road trip day 14. Still partially inflated, I pulled on a snug jock strap with my dick pointed up and to left to avoid the seatbelt some and did just fine.

It all depends on how quick you heal and how much discomfort you can tolerate. I drove on day 6, but regretted it for the next week. I was a slow healer, and didn't drive again for maybe 2 months. Being the passenger was ok, but it wasn't comfortable on a long drive we took 3 weeks post.

Dang, I was planning on driving the 3.5 hrs to NYC for my surgery with Dr Eid and driving back a couple of days later. I did not expect to see people not driving until day 6

My doc wanted me staying horizontal for 2 weeks to prevent swelling. One of those things you need to discuss with your surgeon.

I actually drove myself to the Dr. the next morning to get the catheter out. Was driving ever sense. Wasn't the most comfortable but wasn't all that bad

I will just say that if you drive too soon and cannot react appropriately due to pain, and cause an accident, you could be found at fault. Is it worth it to drive instead of finding someone to drive you??
