I also doubt psychological ED wouldn't respond to Viagra and Cialis. Before my RP, when I wasn't (mentally prepared) to have sex, I used low doses of Viagra or Cialis. This used to wipe out any psychological non-readiness.
Also the doctor who diagnosed as psychological ED should provide details on what basis this assumption is made. I don't think it is applicable in your case.

Regarding injections, Dr Eid told me Caverjet is less likely to cause scarring then mixes done at compounding pharmacies. These formulas are not FDA approved. Never used injections so cant comment...I would think a few months of injections would be low risk, and definitely good to try before going the nuclear route.

As someone who suffers from psych ED, I can 100% inform you that your mindset; the fear and cascade of negative emotion, should they be profound enough, can absolutely negate any effect from pills.
A measure of relaxation and arousal are still needed for the pills to work. They do not simply make one erect at the drop of a hat.
37, mild to moderate ED since age 21, 3 Dopplers - 1 result VL & 3 later results 'no physical problem', dependent on cialis (efficacy now waning), overcame Lymophoma at age 26, ED causing immense/profound psychological distress. Considering implant.
Re: Implant for severe psychological ED?
There’s a lot of good advice here but I’d emphasize 2 Things:
1. Get the Doppler, get the Doppler, get the Doppler! to see if you have venous leakage (IMO- if you don’t have quality nocturnal erections at your age, venous leakage is probable). If so implant or injections are you only options.
2. If.Doppler is negative for VL try injections for a while. If that works for you it buys you time to see if psychological ED is the culprit. If scaring begins to show up it doesn’t prevent you from moving on to an implant.

Re: Implant for severe psychological ED?
I have read all the answers here for your problem and all good answers but it’s a complicated one. Your doctor has told you it’s psychological ed but have you gone to a psycho-sexual councillor? Have you gone to any councillor? Sometimes doctors are wrong and sometimes there right but you have to push to see experts in the field of urology and psychology. It seems to me that you are in the honey moon phase with this girl and you seem to want to rush in to marrying this girl. And this might be the biggest reason you’re possibly rushing the implant route... in my opinion as a young man in today’s dating world and a man who falls in “love” quickly with women. I would never marry a woman with out at least 2 years of getting to know her. Also you have to remember that Ed is making you codependent and needy.. also you haven’t even properly started on the fixing the Ed route... you need to get to a urologist and a psycho-sexual councillor first and foremost... implants are brilliant for people who have zero other options and I understand about injections but if injections work for the time been and you work on your mental issues and fix it you will be saving your self alot of time money and pain possible awkward situations with the implant and the revisions..

Implants are extremely effective but they're a last resort solution.
Having an implant to treat psychogenic ED is like using an atomic bomb to kill a cockroach.
Psychogenic ED is easily treatable. Seeing a urologist is step #1. Doing A LOT of research on this subject is step #2: the more you know about sex, the less stressful it will be.
I've battled psychogenic ED for more than two decades and if I could beat this curse, anyone can.
Age 40. Psychogenic ED for over 20 years. Current regimen: Udenafil 200 mg, oral phentolamine mesylate 40 mg, Seredyn.

They are definitely a last resort solution, but no way would I ever make a statement like “psychogenic ED is easily treatable”. The atomic bomb analogy is also a bit over the top. Ultimately, if you can’t get an erection when she’s down to fuck, that’s it. Game over. It doesn’t matter what the reason is. Let me repeat, it does. not. matter. why you can’t get hard. All that matters is that you can’t.
I’ve had various levels of ED my entire adult life. Pills and injections gave me my sex life back, for many years, and I made damn good use of them, but I still found myself turning down sex in situations where those treatments weren’t available (traveling), and I also couldn’t see how it would ever work long term with a partner.
Maybe you’re one of the lucky ones that can fix it with the right partner, or therapy, or some other treatment. Should you pursue every possible treatment before going the implant route? Absolutely. But if, like me, you’ve tried everything without success and are desperate for a long-term solution, it may turn out that an implant is a good option for you. Only you can say when you’ve had enough.

Re: Implant for severe psychological ED?
At 50y, if pills don't work as desired, I would rather go for an implant than use injections. Injections have limitations. They are a hit or miss. A max of twice a week, and possibility of scarring or developing Peyronie's.
But for a young man in his early 30s, it is complicated. You want to have once or twice a day, and on the other side, if you participate in a team sport, you don't want to get a hit on the reservoir or pump area.
You need to weigh things and select the treatment that is right for you. We all have different life styles and priorities.
