question for guys with implants..

Postby rayhay » Mon Jun 07, 2021 12:28 pm

Hey Guys,

Currently struggling with ED, Pills worked for about 10 years but now success is sporadic. Injections are effective but I unfortunately experience alot of pain and soreness from them.

i'm 47 years old and single. I have the implant surgery scheduled 6/18/21. The unreliability of my erection has got me to a place where im scared to approach women because of the pressure /fear of failure. Its taking a toll mentally and giving me a degree of depression. I've been examined and I don't have physical issues with my penis.. My ED is part hormonal imbalance and now Psychogenic..(tried hormone therapy/testosterone but got bad sides) I feel like ive exhausted all my option to function on a normal level and i'm settling on being subpar.

My question is for guys that took the step for the implant. Looking back... if you was in my shoes and you had the choice of keeping your natural penis working at a 50-60% success rate or taking the plunge to get an implant.. What would you do?

I guess im trying to figure out if an unreliable natural is considered better than an implant.

Thank you in advance for any feedback you can share.

While I don't feel its within this space to make a suggestion, I will say the question I asked myself: "Do I want a fully functional penis?" That question gave me direction.

FYI, I struggled with the question for a long time. Then thought, man if this were a car, clutch blown would I push the car to store or get it fixed? or like saying..you know my arm is half broken, works sometimes...

Good luck

I was in your situation a few years ago. Unreliable erections progressing towards pretty much assured semi-erections or non-erections. (Maybe 10-20% success rate and quick ejaculations because of the intensity of stimulation required to maintain an erection).

While the pills worked, having an erection that erected itself under the ministrations of my lover was still great (and, after implant, I miss the feeling of a spontaneous erection and my lover would like that, also). So, while the pills worked, I would not have gone for an implant.

Even after the pills began to lose effectiveness, sex was still good. Cuddling, massage, fellatio and cunnilingus worked for my partners and me. Good sex is more than just coitus.

I was always up front about the reliability of my penis but that candor won a lot of support from women I approached.

Still, I wanted dependability, so getting the implant did not require much thought and no hesitation at all. Getting the right surgeon DID require much thought and research.

I was in the same (leaky) boat as you: Viagra worked great for 15+ years and then became unreliable. I could have sex (if you could call it that) but could only do mish or doggy style standing to keep the blood flow to offset the venous leak.

For the first time in my life, I had a woman ride me. Oh, have I been missing out. So, while I wish my penis retained my pre-implant shape and girth, the implant was the best option.

I can’t speak for Dr. V, but Dr. Eid and his staff were amazing from first contact through post-surgery.

Best of luck.

I am in the same boat as you. I think a lot of us here were. The most common answer I see is, I wish I had done it sooner.

I am getting implanted 1 week after you. We got this brother!

I would stay with 50-60% working penis. 5/6 out of 10 is not bad at all.
When you get to the point where I was at 2 years post radical prostatectomy, 100% impotent and nothing worked, than IPP is God’s sent solution.

I was 70-80% erection reliable, quality was solid but never never rock hard. It is now whenever I wan't it to be and it feels great. Stronger orgasms now and I can stop ,go slow...whatever. It was a good decision. I spent way too much time worrying about it. Get a good surgeon I found one locally (didn't have to fly anywhere or wait for months) and didn't loose any size in fact judging from how it is slightly painful when fully pumped I expect I'll gain some after a year or so. Best of luck with your decision!
