Last minute questions

Postby sgarza07 » Sun May 09, 2021 12:07 pm

I have a few last minute questions:
For those implanted, does your penis feel different, especially during sex? Does your sensation change?
I read some where that the penis is colder after an implant because the lack of blood. Is this true?
Why is recovery different from surgeon to surgeon? Some begin cycling at 3 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks.

Agree it does feel a bit cooler. No idea why each Dr has different times for activation. My Dr said 6 weeks and I went home not inflated. I shoes to inflate it on my own at 4 weeks.

I’m not a patient man. Lol

Very happy with my new equipment. Wish I had done it years ago.

Doctors have different skill levels and different interests in the field they are in. So one area like where I live have little interest in implant surgery or new developments that produce a better outcome. Some really good doctors not only keep up with new developments but are actually making them. There was a study done some years ago that showed a relationship with long waits for activation and size loss pre vs post op. That publication is in the documents worth reading thread in the general section of this forum. So one well know NY doctor activates at 3 days and my local doctors at 8 weeks. The NY doctor works for the best possible results for the patient and my local guys all say to expect at least 1" loss pre vs post op. So it depends on where you live and the doctors in your area. The doctor I went to said I could activate a few days earlier than the 3 weeks he normally uses. With my current repair the doctor says no sex for 6 weeks.

As for feeling different yes it does. You have a device in side you now. And you do not need to be aroused to pump up an erection. Some have results with waiting to pump until they are really aroused and have some engorgement and others either use oral ed meds or urethra muse to help with blood engorgement.

As compared to before I got the implant, but during the 19+ years that I've had ED, yes, my dick feels different in a much better way. Now, I have a 100% guaranteed hardon any time I want. I don't have to worry about being too tired or having eaten too much fatty food for supper or whether or not the optimal time has passed since I snuck into the bedroom to pop a pill.

Yes, for me the sensation has changed. At first, I had very little sensation, which was frustrating. But in the last roughly two months, the sensations have been great. I'm definitely having much more intense orgasms than I was before the implant and since I've had ED.

Honestly, so many years have passed since I developed ED, that I have a hard time remembering what sex was like when I was healthy.

I haven't been aware of my penis being colder. I got my implant in late October. I live in the northeast United States, and it was decently cold up here this winter. I spent plenty of time outside in the cold, and I didn't notice anything unusual.

I didn't learn how to inflate and deflate my implant until eight weeks after my surgery. It was supposed to be six weeks, but my doctor was very busy, so I couldn't get in to see him until just before Christmas. I don't know why there might be a difference between doctors' protocols. I assumed that my doctor was going by experience and best practices in the field.

I hope this helps.

Sleep after implant:

I am a stomach sleeper. What advise do you have for this who sleep on their stomach 85% of the time? Also, I sleep with a weighted blanket (20lBS). Do I need to not sleep with one during the healing process?

You will sleep in whatever position you are most comfortable (or least uncomfortable).

I am an eclectic sleeper. Sometimes stomach, sometimes side, not so often on my back. But after surgery, stomach was not an option. Partially on my stomach, rolled partially on my side with the upper leg cocked, bent-knee allowed me to not put pressure on my surgical site. But the first few days/nights flat on my back worked quite well, despite my preferences. It was the most comfortable.

Penis colder? What, you guys took a thermometer to your dick?
Recovery is different for everyone because everyone is built differently.
It took me 7 months just to have penetrative
sex! I was envious of the guys that had sex 3 weeks afterwards!

I began cycling 3 months after my operation.

I am also a part-time stomach sleeper so I can relate. Lost Sheep, I understand you had to modify your sleeping positions postoperatively but how about after you fully recovered? Are you able to sleep flat on your stomach at this point or do you still have to adjust?

Hi sgarza07,
If you choose an experienced surgeon specialist in Penile implant and you are determinate to work with a positive mind to get the best output, believe me you will be the happies man in the world.
For some reason, we focus on what if something goes wrong.
In my personal experience, nothing could be more wrong than my flacid, useless and humiliating pines. I was 100% sure that my bionic will be way better than my death penis.
1) It does feel different. It feels better, you know how happy you will feel, seing your girl having several orgarms and you still hard ready for more.
2) The sensation will change, right now your sensation is depressing. It will be a different sensation. It is not better sensation than making happy somebody that you love or like very much.
3) Yes, your glande sometimes could be cold. Personally, I put an small towel in the microwave for a minute and wrap my gland for 1 minutes and it warms it better than natural and stay warm.
4) An expert surgeon will suggest to start cycling as soon as you can to get a better output.
5) Most surgeries will disturb your sleep for a short period of time. This is no different.

Think about how great your new sex life will be, all the fun that you will have, all the compliments that you will get for having a bionic.

Remember, you are not alone. We, The bionic brotherhood will be here 24/7 to support you and listen your concerns a worries.
I wish you the best. Please keep us update.

I was just thinking about the feeling during sex before and after. The only difference for me is when I pump too hard and get tip pain. At 80 percent that's not a problem and it feels just as great as a really hard erection.

Everyone gets cold glans at least for awhile. Some wives choose to warm it up before coitus. My glans is cold mostly but not as much as at first. I've had no complaints.

Unless you have underlying conditions 6 weeks is a cookie cutter don't bother me works for everyone except worse case patients guide line. If your doctor were to see you every day he /she would react differently. Unfortunately we are headed into a herd mentality medical situation because of govt. The AMS video suggests starting after week 3? as I recall. But gently and slowly with longer times as the days go by. My doctor said don't touch it see you in 6 weeks.
