Revision Surgery After Just One Year

Postby GayPornStud » Wed Apr 07, 2021 7:25 pm

Doing commercial porn and amateur porn (like Only Fans and Just for Fans), my Titan had performed incredibly well (implanted February 2020)- often more than 20 times in a single week. But as I was inflating Sunday, the bulb (pump), suddenly went flat and no more fluid would enter. My erection was about 50% of normal. Today, I saw my doctor who confirmed I most likely have a leak and will have to have surgery to either replace the pump or the entire implant, depending on where the leak is. My surgery is scheduled for next week, followed by the usual 6-8 weeks of recovery.

I asked about WHY this happened. He explained to me that the larger the implant/penis, the more pressure at the bottom end where the tubes connect to the cylinders. My implant was 27cm and I have about 9 inches on the outside. The doc also said that these devices were never tested for anal sex, whether between men or woman, and that because the anal cavity (generally) is tighter than the vagina, it's possible the additional stress caused the breakage.

My question to y'all is... has anyone ever heard of this happening? It was my understanding the Titan implant has been tested for up 1.5 million uses. In fact, my doc told me before getting the implant that "there is virtually nothing you can do from the outside to damage it." That does not appear to be true now.

I almost feel like giving up on my work and even trying to have sex as the top (insertive partner) if these devices are so incredibly fragile, it's just going to keep breaking. I thought the point was durability. I not into super rough sex... just normal vanilla anal gay sex. I'm really disappointed. Years of Trimix wasn't fun, but if my implant is going to fail year after year... maybe I should have continued to suffer with the bruising, pain and dead tissue Trimix was causing.

Coloplast advertises the Titan as 3x more durable and has 8x more strength. But I suspect that is for the cylinders. That it is capable of 6.5 million cycles without failure. For 20 years that works out to 890 cycles a day. Divide that by three for the others and you get 296 cycles a day. But these do fail. There is some data that indicates that Coloplast has more tubing failures and AMS more cylinder failures. I have also read this is due to Coloplast not making the tubing they use and AMS does. But that both have a very close overall average life span. Just different reasons for failures.

The thing is many times a tubbing failure can be an easy fix as can a pump. But a cylinder is a full replacement. The longest AMS is a special order 24cm CX. The longest LGX is 21cm. And the Titan is made to 28cm for men like you. But parts do fail and even the best doctors have reoperation rates and are not perfect. Who is your doctor?

Sorry about your failure. Statistics suck. More of a false OK. Every single implant is different, in some way. One of a kind. Yours.

Similar to Test Pilot Vs Fleet Pilot. Test pilot pushes limits and the manufacturer sells on those limits. Fleet pilot flys with the total collective stresses to the Jet.

You're in an exclusive Squadron. Please continue to post product limit.

I Salute you!

I’m sorry this has happened to you. But the fact that it broke in one year doesn’t mean they are all going to break in a year. Your revision may last many years.

I don’t think there are enough other guys here with as large a penis getting as much use for anal as your does.

But hang in there. My hope is that your revision will last a long long time.

Let us know how it goes.

Looking Up, great ANALogy!

I had an appt with my uro today. We were talking about failures and revisions. Based on some fears from this board, I told him I would be very happy with 10 years before a failure. He said no problem, he wants 15-20 years out of it before replacing. I agree though, if you are doing anal a lot, or cowgirl position, or heavy set - then 12 years might average out to 5 years.

As for OP's revision. Just a strangers opinion. You probably should look it as a fluke failure. Go ahead with the revision. Might be worthwhile to see if you can get an implant with pre connected tubing. Just in case it failed at a splice.
On the other hand, if the bulb or a splice at the bulb failed. A revision might be fairly simple. One of those things where you might just have to play it by ear.
I'm sure the members will be interested in finding out what failed.

An implant is a mechanical device and all will fail with time. I have had a total of seven surgeries since 2013 for implant issues. Some the implant failed and a couple because of body failures. I’d have surgery once a year if that’s what it took to have a piece of equipment that worked properly. It’s like buying a new car. Some do a 100k without any issue. Others in the shop at 5k. A friend of mine did a dealer transfer on a new car with less than 300 miles and the motor blew up during the transfer trip. Just mechanical stuff.
My luck ain’t good because Murphy and all his kids have bedrooms at my house but I admit they killing me.

Thanks guys for all of the comments. I'm not scared, just frustrated. Hopefully this revision works well and lasts 10+ years. I go in on Wednesday 4/14...
