Numb

Postby Jake2365 » Wed Apr 07, 2021 4:54 am

Hey guys,
I'm 6 weeks post op and still have complete numbness from the scrotal incision all the way up the bottom of my shaft to about 1 inch below the head.
Is this normal? When does sensitivity recover? I would like to be able to feel it when my penis is touched...
Or is this completely unnormal?
51 yr old male. Injections began failing at 15 months. Implanted 2-24-21, Titan 24cm, no RTE. Dr. Goldstein, San Diego, CA, USA

Swinger, Kinkster, BDSM & all kinds of other crazy play I need to get back to!

Completely willing to show and tell.

This happens when the nerves are jostled around during surgery. They do recover, although very slowly as vajim1 stated.

Hi Jake,
I am numb the same as you. Implanted 15th January. Seems like a common effect of the surgery.
Implanted AMS 700 lgx, Jan 15th 2021. 18cm with 3cm rte.

One year- yikes!

Is there anyway to speed up the recovery? Massage, vibration, testosterone cream? What about seeing a neurologist or other specialist that deals with nerve damage?

Jake--thanks for asking this question. I too am experiencing the numbness, I was implanted Feb 12. I was going to let it go a few more weeks before asking my doctor--but, now I will just monitor it to see if it improves.

Sorry, there is no way to speed up nerves healing. Nerves regenerate very slowly. The good part is they do heal, just give it time. Took me almost a year to feel the head of my dick like before.

As I've posted numerous times now, I had little sensitivity in my penile shaft and glans post-op and tried everything known to medical science to try to "speed up" the recovery process and be able to experience orgasm/ejaculation again. Of course, it was scary to think that I would never regain sufficient sensitivity again but at about the 11 month post-op mark, one night I suddenly experienced sufficient sensitivity during sex to orgasm/ejaculate. Then, the next time and the time after that! Hopefully, sensitivity will continue to improve over time.
Don't waste your money on products that are marketed to "fix" this problem...believe me, I HAVE tried them ALL. Lately, I've been using 3 mg apomorphine troches sublingually, along with my daily 5 mg dose of Cialis for BPH. Whether or not this has helped with my sensitivity problem or is merely coincidental I don't know but since I've hit home runs the last 3 times at bat, I'm going to keep on using them.
Implanted 5/6/20 by Dr. Jesse Mills at UCLA; AMS 700 LGX 18 cm w/2 cm RTEs. I'm 76 & fit but had ED for 20 years. Pills/injections ultimately failed, including 3 ER trips for Priapism; Shockwave & embryonic stem cell therapies didn't help either.
