Sore scrotum

Postby Rescuebrady » Fri Apr 02, 2021 3:05 pm

Hi guys, I’m a new member and post op (1week) AMS 700 implant. Got a question for those of you who has went thru the process. My pump is installed on the right side of my scrotum. That side is so sore to the point it hurts to pump and feels very thick in texture. Is that normal and does the soreness improve. Thanks guys for any advise.

I too have an AMS, roughly 6 weeks out. Pump is also on the right. My scrotum was incredibly sore, and I too felt like the skin of my sack had thickened (swelling) and the incision was very tender and sore and my right ball was truly pissed off about the new roommate. All of this resolved very quickly, and yours will too. Did your doctor instruct you to start cycling at one week?

Yes. I started on day 8 and pump until I begin to feel pain. I then suck it up for 20 mins but after reading a lot of posts on here I have began doing it twice a day. I’ve noticed I can give myself 6 pumps now versus 2 at the beginning. Still hurts like hell. Lol

Rescuebrady,

I am 2 weeks out and can definitely relate. I had a lot of scrotal pain when I initially tried cycling 1 week post-op. I could only get 4 or 5 pumps before I tapped out. Waited another week and that made a huge difference. Yesterday, I got 12 full pumps and stayed inflated for 30 minutes. It wasn’t pleasant but I did it.

I’ve also experienced the thick feeling scrotal skin you mentioned. Hopefully, that will improve soon.

Was/is your scrotal area black and blue? Mine was dark purple! Starting to fade now.

You should be feeling much better in a week. Good luck!

My turn on 7 Apr, also AMS 700 (CX for me) and the pump is to go on the right, not in the middle. Looks like I have a lot to look forward to. Seriously, I will be glad to have it done.

Well hell yea your sack is tinder to the touch. The boys have company and they have no desire to play. Your skin is very swollen. I was told not to try to cycle. Every Dr is different. He said wait 6 weeks and we will start it up. Well I’m not a patient man. As soon as the bag got softer 3 weeks sat in a hot tub of water to relax stuff. I was able to cycle with out much pain. Still had fear that I would not be able to release it. But it all worked out fine. Enjoy the new toy. Congrats.

I took my Dr.'s advice and waited the full 6 weeks as prescribed to diddle with my sack. It took a good couple to three months pulling and tugging before the pump got loose from the sack. Be patient man.

My implant was left inflated at around 60% for the first 5 weeks, I did try some cycling early but really was too tender in the scrotum to cycle much at all in the early days after the operation. I decided I needed to heal first and cycle later.

My advice would be to find out from your doctor when it is OK to get into a hot bath. Some docs want you to wait a long time, and you should obey what they tell you. I had surgical glue on my incision (infrapubic) and was able to start using hot baths at day 3, but many have to wait much longer. Hot water helps in a few ways. The pump is softer and easier to compress. They start very stiff and get easier over time, but early on the hot water really helps. Next, the heat will relax your scrotum. This lets everything inside relax a little more as well, giving more room for the roommates. In addition, a relaxed scrotum lengthens some and the skin thins out a little.

Even before you start pumping, the hot bath will help everything feel better. It's somewhat counter-intuitive, as you want ice to reduce swelling, but the heat does that relaxing and feels better than anything else I tried early.

Again, make SURE your doctor gives you the go-ahead. Infection is the biggest risk early on and open wounds can get infected easily in water that has any contaminants. My doc would not have allowed what he did without sealing it all off with surgical glue.

I am not a doctor, and this is not medical advice. Talk to your doc.
