Shaving after implant

Postby AST2123 » Fri Mar 26, 2021 5:35 pm

Guys, 2 months after implant, I am not yet aware of how to shave my public hair or scrotum. Can I shave or use a hair remover? I am afraid to touch all the area :(.

8 weeks your incision should be completely healed. If the Doc lets you Bathe (sit in tub water) he's confident you're water tight.

I'd start with shaving. Any good 5 blade and some sort of shaving cream. If you have the $$, electrolysis is permanent. Doesn't hurt as much as advertised.

Cheers.

I bought a Phillips Norelco Bodygroomer 7000. It works great. Allows different lengths for manscaping as well as shaving everything off, whether the area in general, or the boys. Seems very safe. I've nicked myself a couple times, but not bad enough to worry about. I had trouble with the idea of sharp razor blades going near my junk, but this made it easy.

As far as timing, just be careful that you don't catch any bumps that might sill be around. It really isn't hard at all.

Best of luck with what you decide.

I've been shaving for over 20 yrs. After the first few times, the skin gets condition to it and it's no problem. I use a 3 blade and shaving cream about three times a week. Love the smooth feel and clean look.

Thanks brothers for the inputs. I will try with a blade. Electrolysis can be an option if it not too expensive.

Stubble isn't my problem although I don't let it go more than 2-3 days as I'm not a fan of the stubble. What is a problem is the ingrown hairs. I shave as often as every day or two most of the time and have been using the BIC 4 blade (I think) replaceable head disposables.

On my face I use a double-edge safety razor with a brush and shaving soap lather but I'll be damned if I'll use a single blade razor on my scrotum and pubes - I'd probably bleed to death on the first attempt!

I am blond so it is easy to shave my cock and balls. I just use a cheap $1.00 razor (careful when new) and no shave cream ans shave away. I use the same razor until it won't do the job.

Been shaving for years, occasionally letting it grow out.

Used a electric Bodygroom to clear tall stuff sometimes using the razor foil mostly use a Gillette Mach 3.

After surgery talking with my wife decided to go permanent started laser treatments. Now after a year of treatments about all is left is hair that is either grey or blond. And it’s pretty sparse. Still use the Mach 3 and sensitive shaving gel. After my contract is up on laser treatments may look into electrolysis, perhaps I should have gone that route first. Just didn’t realize had some grey or blond down there since it was always shaved.

Key for grooming is just take your time. A few nicks happened but heal quickly. If you use a good exfoliating brush that should minimize ingrown hairs. Just make sure the brush is soft enough for more sensitive skin but firm enough to scrub and lift the hair.

I generally shave 3 times a week, before implant, just after implant now a year of laser about once a week.

I shave my genital area with an electric razor and a rounded foil blade but frequently nick myself, especially on my scrotum. Do you guys think I'll have fewer nicks using a shaver, like a Gillette Mach 3, with shaving cream or gel?
