I'm Young... Worried About Revisions

Postby darkflame » Tue Mar 23, 2021 8:33 pm

So I am getting my first implant in May with Dr. Eid, probably a Titan.

The issue is I am only 22 which means I will need a lot more revisions over my lifetime. Like minimum 6.

I'm not worried about infections because as long as I go to a good doc I don't think the chances of that are high.

But what other issues can come up with getting this many revisions? Are there any risks I need to be considering that are going to become a problem after I am a few revisions in?

I posted recently that while I was reading the FT archives. I found a member on his 7th revision. Personally, I feel that the worry concerning "running out" of revisions is over blown.
While I do not claim to of read all of the archives. I can say that I've yet to read of a member that couldn't get the revision that he wanted based upon his implant history. Finding a surgeon or getting insurance to cover it is a different issue.
Find good surgeons & follow their advice. You should be good. Best of luck.

I am 10 years ahead of you in age. I used to worry about this as well but honestly, Dr. Hakky assured me that 10 years is average before the revision is needed. The Coloplast rep who was there had an implant too and his lasted over 15 years. Most people come to this forum when they need revision or have problems so it may feel like revisions are needed frequently when that's not the case. This forum has a very small sample of people who got implants. On average, 100,000 men worldwide get an implant every year, we do not see all of them on this forum. Trust the research papers and the doctors and go ahead with the decision if nothing else is working.

You must remember that the life expectancy of an implant is 10~15 years TODAY. They can improve in the future with new technologies.

Since you have a warranty that lasts your entire life, it's the interest of AMS and Coloplast to make more resistant material.

Tortão has the right idea: with each new generation of devices they will likely get better/last longer.

Getting implanted at 22, it’s likely you will need revision(s) at some point but the time between implants will likely get longer and longer as time goes by.

And eventually you’ll get the robot activated, nuclear powered, version with built in vibrators, ribbed for their pleasure.

All joking aside, it’s an interesting consideration but not one that would keep me from getting implanted.

Darkflame. I've been thinking more about your question. I do recall a member that had an infected implant removed. A malleable was installed to keep the space open while the infection was cleared up. That normally only delays the new implant by 6 months. Even diabetics get implants. You might have a delay for surgery if your blood surgars are abnormally high. Once they are closer to normal surgery is done.
So I guess if you're asking about having some condition that prevents a revision. My reading has not found any men that couldn't get a revision for medical reasons.
I hope that this info eases your worries.

Another thing to consider is do you want to continue the next 50 years or more the way things are now and most likely worse? And at some point ED does cause size loss. So the longer you wait the more risk and the increased amount of loss. I do not know your details but I would not look at it as the revisions you would need other than being committed to them to have this part of you life back. In other words think all of the years you will be able to have good sex again.

We all have to make this choice and what ever you decide and when will be the right one as only you can decide what is best for you. Good luck going forward with this.

As somewhat of a "poster child" for revisions (I'm on my 4th Titan in about 8 years), the main "negatives" in my opinion are:

A: loss of sensitivity - I don't care how good the Dr is, you're probably going to lose some sensitivity. I have several spots with reduced sensitivity. Fortunately, I have many more sensitive spots.

B: loss of size: A "better" doctor and advice from other users (vacuum pump prior to and after surgery) can minimize this.

As I was about 62 when I received my first implant, you'll be living with your implant for 40 or so years longer than I. That said, my Post RP limp noodle gave me very little sexual satisfaction. Implants have truly changed my life, physically and mentally. I KNOW I can fuck that girl (uh....if she lets me), no excuses necessary.

My only implant regret was my poor choice of my initial surgeon.

If you can't fuck and want to.... get to it!

And good luck man!

I understand your concern on revisions. Another way to look at this is at your age and stamina a goal could be to wear the the implant out from over use

If I was you, I would be thinking about all the fun that I will have on year to come. Picture yourself having a Bionic at 22 years old. Oh my Lord, all the girls are going to chasing you, begging you to fuck them. You will have an advantage in compare with the rest of the guys.
Don't worry about the future, enjoy your present. You will cross that bridge when you get there.
I wasn't as lucky as you are. I din't know anything about penile implante until I was old. I got my Bionic two weeks ago. I am very happy with the output so far. I am planning to have fun as much as I can.
Relax and enjoy your new you.
Good luck.
