Thank you guys for your well wishes. I appreciate it.

At this point, the anesthesia has worn off and I am feeling the full effect of having multiple foreign objects forced inside the most sensitive part of my body. The pain is manageable but I am definitely uncomfortable. I think I'll feel a lot better once I get the catheter and drain removed tomorrow.

I know there are some on this board that experienced little to no pain during recovery. I was hoping to be among you but no such luck!

All in all, this is a small price to pay if it gives me my life back. The perspective I have gained from others' experiences will definitely help me. I know not to expect much for quite some time. Patience is the name of the game.

Don't forget to ice, ice, ice. It keeps the swelling down and helps with the pain.

Day 2 Post-Op

This morning I had my dressing, catheter and drain removed. What a relief! I'm able to move around like a normal human again.

My new toy is safely tucked against my abdomen in some compression shorts. Thankfully, its' not noticeable to other people.

Currently, I am about 30% inflated and will stay that way until I attempt to start cycling one week post-op. Size and appearance are not great at the moment, but this is just the starting point. One thing I can already see is that my erections will likely be straighter than ever. The pump is positioned at the bottom middle of my scrotum and I am able to feel the deflation button, which is a good sign.

The only issues I am having now are some tenderness around the reservoir and occasional sharp, shooting pains near the base of my penis on the right side. I think this is from the tubing leading down from the reservoir. Hopefully that will abate soon.

Was able to urinate today. Now working on a BM. Feels ridiculous to say this, but it's the reality of the situation.

"Feels ridiculous to say this" No Sir. It is reality. Similar to having a cast taken off. Have to relearn how to move and do things you never had to think about doing.

We all respond to injury in our own time. This isn't heart replacement but it's not having a cyst removed. Listen to your body not the Timeline or Guideline Booklet. Comply with your Doctor as best you can. If you need more time or deviate, let the Doc know. You won't be the first to do either.

Welcome Brother.

Day 3 Post-op

Doing very well overall. No real pain, just some discomfort around the pump and reservoir.

Bodily functions are slowly returning to normal. I did have to drink a bottle of magnesium citrate to get things moving--it basically liquifies your insides--don't say I didn't warn you!

Current positives:

I am able to feel every contour of the pump, including the deflate button. Doc said my scrotal skin is very thin--which may be an issue with revisions down the line, but is probably an asset right now. The pump is well positioned and does not appear to be riding up (I am pulling down on it every now and then). I actually pumped it once last night as I couldn't resist--this didn't hurt.

I have minimal bruising and little swelling. I think the drain really helped as well as regular icing/bed rest for the first three days.

Current negatives:

My glans and spongiosum have gone into hiding. My dick currently resembles a shrunken, flattened oval. When I contract my pelvic floor muscles (kegel), my shaft moves a bit but my glans and spongiosum do not engorge at all like they normally did pre-implant. It's almost like they've been disconnected. I am hoping this stems from the numbness caused by the incision, and will resolve in time. I know a lot of guys are concerned about just this issue, so I will report back on it going forward.

Coughing (and laughing) are not pleasant at the moment. I had a coughing fit earlier involving an errant piece of waffle and I instinctively used my hand to put pressure on the area where my reservoir is located. Definitely tender there and don't want it herniating out!

Excellent update, thank you for taking the time to post it! I'm close to your age and also hope to go to Dr Hakky so your continued updates are very very appreciated

Day 5 Post-Op

Flew home from Atlanta yesterday. Had no real issues with pain or discomfort despite all the walking and sitting. I do have TSA PreCheck, which helped me get through security quickly and avoid having to go through a body scanner. I was a little curious if that would have been an issue.

After all that activity, I'm feeling it a bit today. Scrotum is sore around the pump. However, the worst pain right now is where the tubing comes down from the reservoir and wraps around the right side at the base. Sitting on the toilet kind of sucks as the position seems to pinch this area. Once I heal up and scar tissue forms, I hope it won't be so tender. I don't think it will be an issue during sex as the area is pretty flush against my abdomen.

This brings up another point about tubing--if you are lean like me, you will probably be able to feel it pretty easily in various places. My surgeon tried his best to hide it but there's only so much one can do with a patient who has no fat on him. Fortunately, I don't think it would be visually noticeable (at least to the untrained eye).

I was able to get my glans to engorge a bit by kegeling yesterday. I could only do it once and haven't been able to repeat it since, but this is still a relief because it means it is at least possible.

Have a virtual appointment in a few days, during which I will attempt deflating and inflating for the first time. Looking forward to cycling and seeing how much size I have retained.

Thanks Newlybionic I appreciate your well written observations! You and I are similar body types so it’s impacting for me. My reservore is quite prominent on right side above -just left of hip joint and im not happy with it pocking out like it does. Early on you said yours was noticeable- how is it now? Also- Now at 5 days post my balls are still like big hard Nurf toy, im icing like crazy but the return to normal is very slow. You are 20 years younger so I suppose that is important factor. Please keep up your blog its is helpful
Thanks
