Hi guys,
I was told by my Dr to wear firm underwear and keep my penis resting vertical toward my stomach. He didnt specify how long this needs to be done for or if its a 24/7 thing (ie sleep with firm underwear and penis in same vertical position).
Ive read some articles which say first few weeks, some say two weeks, Ive seen one say first 4 weeks. I am now at day 13 and first day back at work its not behaving as I want it to. Everytime I sit down, then get up, climb some stairs, go back to the office etc its ended up bending or moving to the side or just becoming uncomfortable etc.
I plan on getting in touch with my Dr to clarify, but I am interested on what others have done.
How critical is the penis position during recovery? Is it always vertical up? Was it 24/7 or just during waking hours? How long for?
I appreciate any feedback.

Hi. Were you sent home partially inflated? If you were, like I was, it really limits your options. I was implanted 5 days ahead of you, sent home inflated to 70% and per my Drs. orders, wore a tight jock strap 24 hours a day until my first follow up 11 days post surgery. It did the job, holding my penis in a straight up position. It was too uncomfortable at that point not to keep it that way. I left the follow up about 25% inflation, and still can't wear my dick in a downward position, but to the left or right seems to be fine. Like most guys will tell you, at this stage of recovery, underwear needs to be tight.

Don't take my advice over your doctors, but I've read plenty of stories where their doctors told them to alternate days putting it to the left/ right, also seen some stories where doctors said it doesn't really matter.
Could you put a small sock or wrap it, point it up, then a long piece of tape to keep it from moving around?

Hi,
I dont believe I am partially inflated. Prior to surgery I asked my Dr if I would be going home with an erection and he said no, it wont be inflated until the follow up visit. It does definitely feel a little full, almost like a semi hardon, but from what I have read, the titan implants seem to feel that way for quite a while even when fully deflated.
I can wear the tight underwear and keep it up when sleeping or at home, but I just found at work it seems to end up all over the place and for the last few hours at work yesterday I had it pointing down just to keep it still.

Hi,
Yeah I have read similar things as well. I will try and get in touch with the Dr today and see what he says. If it absolutely has to be up all the time then I will figure out a way to do it, maybe with a sock or tape as you suggested. I am hoping he says something along the lines of wear it in a way that is comfortable at work but then keep it in the upward position at home.

Re: Penis position during recovery
My surgeon recommended 6 weeks off post-op. The first two weeks he wanted me in bed or laying on couch with ice the majority of time to prevent swelling.
Even going back to work almost 7 weeks post op I still get sore from walking and being up.
I was one who was instructed right and left and NO up or down. and still doing that 13 weeks postop. But do sleep naked most of the time. I will check with him at next visit in 4 weeks about the left right thing.
Maybe you went back to work earlier then your body wanted you too.

I went back to work earlier than any part of me wanted to...body or mind! Unfortunately though I could only allocate two weeks off and I realised from reading the posts on here that 2 weeks was going to be very ambitious.
I will be fine, I am going to be at a desk for most of the remaining week so I shouldnt have too many dramas. Ive contacted my Dr to get some further info so I will see what he says. I sleep naked too (or I did prior to this) so being able to go back to that is going to be very welcome.
