My implant surgery is fast approaching and I'm realizing that I still don't fully understand some things about deflation.
For example, I understand with inflation that you can achieve whatever level of hardness you want up to the max.
But with deflation, can you dial back the hardness in stages, or is it the case that once you hit the button all the saline starts to drain out?
In other words, in a situation with a partner who complains you are too hard, would you have to deflate completely and then pump up again?
In case it matters, I will most likely be getting a Titan Touch.
Is deflation all or nothing?

Re: Is deflation all or nothing?
You have the same control with inflation or deflation.
Once you press the release valve to deflate it will start to deflate, but to completely deflate you will be squeezing the shaft. When you are inflated the fluid is in the cylinders under pressure, so when you first hit the release valve there will be some deflation. (I refer to this as taking off the tension). But then the pressure will balance out and you will have to milk or squeeze the shaft to deflate further. I also reach above my balls and squeeze the part of the cylinders that are inside my body.
Once you are done deflating you will pump the pump once to reset the valves to inflate position.
So you can stop the deflation process by squeezing the pump once.'
Hit me up if you have more questions, I am 13 weeks post implant.
They advertise the One Touch Release, but I have found you have to hold it down much of the time. But I do think the more I use it the more the One Touch feature works, I think the valve has a break in period. Make sure you get a replica of the pump from your surgeon, it really helps you identify the parts of the pump.
Also make sure you are pulling down on the pump as instructed by your surgeon, getting the pump optimally placed is very important. Side note clip your fingernails, when pulling on the pump i accidently dug a nail into my scrotum OUCH

Re: Is deflation all or nothing?
I also noticed a warning in the AMS papers provided to me after surgery: (Do not squeeze the cylinders while pressing the deflate button). Doctors should emphasize this. Not every one will read all the details.

I totally agree with implant1959, as he refers to the Coloplast. After the first 4 weeks of my post surgery, the doctor wanted me to deflate the cylinders completely ( when I was through cycling ), so the reservoir would stay inflated fully while scar tissue formed around it. Now, a year and a half later, I deflate to approximately 20 - 30%. Like implant 1959, I too press and hold the release button.
I don't know about others but when the Coloplast are completely deflated, the cylinders look and feel "flat"...kinda wonkie. Totally deflating is, at least for me, like yoga. While standing, #1 press and hold the release button, #2 in the other hand squeeze the shaft, #3 tightly cross your legs, and last,#4 do a real good Kegel. Try it.

Re: Is deflation all or nothing?
My Coloplast really doesn't deflate like it used to. Right after surgery when I fully deflated the cylinders would literally be flat and my dick looked flat. Now it stays fairly large for flaccid, but that's comparing it to what it used to be flaccid. Know I can't wear swim trunks in public anymore, LOL.
To deflate now I do push the button and squeeze my shaft at the same time. In the shower later I'll push the button, release, then squeeze my shaft to deflate more. I can tell when it's fully deflated because I feel the reservoir bulge. After sex I'll use a towel wrapped around my shaft to deflate.

In case it matters, I will most likely be getting a Titan Touch.
I have a different answer than those above.
My Titan behaves differently. I never need to squeeze my dick when I deflate. I just press the deflate valve really hard for a few seconds, and then my dick goes down. Within minutes it is totally drained, down to the level where I can feel the flat cylinders in my shaft.
If my partner would complain I am too hard, and I would press the deflate button during sex (well, not during intercourse, but during sex), it would be very hard for me to stop the process (by pressing the pump bulb) before my dick lost too much hardness. In the scenario you describe, I would have to press the deflate button, press the pump bulb, and then pump back again to the desired level. Unless whoever I was having sex with preferred to be fucked by a semi...
But those who have read a decent number of posts here do know that there is variation in how people's implants behave.
This is the way mine works.
I would also say that the answer to your question doesn't really matter.
In any way, you would need to press the deflate button first and then squeeze the bulb.
Most likely, you won't do this unnoticed, so if you have to add a few pumps as well, it doesn't change much.
And if you can do the two compulsory moves unnoticed, you probably can do the third unnoticed as well...
