Maximum use of your pump

Postby Masonjames » Sat Feb 27, 2021 7:07 am

Hi guys
I have heard guys talk about this before but just experienced it for the first time last night. I had my surgery on the first of September 2020, which puts me between 25 and 26 weeks postop.
I was cycling last night and when I reached 70 pumps the pump went flat and didn't fill back up. I could fill an indention on one side. The same thing happened again this morning, with the same amount of pumps. I now know how many pumps I can get out of my implant.
I thought I'd share this milestone in my journey. Thanks to all hear, who have helped me along my way.
If any of you guys want to offer me advice on this please fill free to do so. I love the input.

Thankfully no issues with my pump, but it takes about 30 pumps to max me out. That has been slowly increasing from around 22-24 last year. Size gain or leakage? Not sure or maybe I'm just not squeezing as hard on some pumps.
68 years old when Coloplast Titan OTR implanted 11-08-2019. Viagra, Trimix, QuadMix all failed after a while. Married to my beautiful 17 year younger wife for 32+ years. As much as it was a tough recovery for me I'm glad I had it done.

Hey Mason,
I'm thinking because the Coloplast has a smaller pump than the AMS that I have it takes more pumps. I, like gjmjo017, pump to approx 12 max. Also I'm thinking that's sort of a safety thing so one doesn't have a blowout

Sorry I didn't include that information. It's the Titan one touch.
I was tell my representive about it and he said that the doctors were not getting the right information on calculating the amount of fluid for maximum expansion. He said the calculation were base on your size at the time of the implant and that many men were experiencing this issue six months to a year down the road, after their implants stretched.
Having had several implants himself he has experienced this issue himself.
As for the number of pumps. That varies with each man and obviously isn't based of size. He is larger than I am and he said around 40 pumps was his max. Guess it depends hw much fluid you pump delivers with each pump.

Can you still cycle your implant? If it goes flat & doesn’t fill back up it honestly sounds like the device has failed. Is it still working?

Yes I can cycle it. It gets rock hard but just gives out of fluid after that many pumps. My Rep. said he's hear of this and that the doctors need to add more fluid to accommodate stretching
