Post surgery pain

Postby emenac3645 » Thu Feb 04, 2021 12:52 pm

Please do any person experience what i am going through now. I had my prostate removed five years ago and had an implant placed three years ago, when i did not regain erection. This shorten my penis before the implant but my a more serious issue has arisen now when I am aroused or have an orgasm I start experiencing anal pain or pressure for hours. it makes me feel like i will have a bowel movement but nothing comes out. I have discussed it with by urologist who performed the surgery and he seem like he does not know what i am saying. The pain is making me avoid sex and I do not know what to do next. Please if anyone has the same experience, advice on what to do or medication to take.
Thank you.

Have you had a colonoscopy to see if everything is right in your colon? Never have heard of this problem.

Welcome to the site. You might want to create a signature like you see with other members so you don't have to answer or retype info with additional post. Prostate removal date and implant date and type (Titan, LGX, CX, ect.) You can put other info like cylinder size and RTE's if you have them if you like.

I had a number of problems with my implant. One I have is very sharp pain after penetrative sex in my rectum. My local doctors are low volume and do not do revisions. They only remove the implant if it causes enough problems that the man wants it gone. This may have to do with insurance companies being very powerful in my state. I was able to go to my Gastrointestinal doctor and had a CT scan done that of course showed the implant and a problem with the proximal end's of the cylinders inside my body. And was able to take this to my Urologist and get sent out to a surgeon to do a repair. But Covid shut that down and I am still waiting. In my case there was either a perforation or the Crus that contains the cylinder has no support. Usually in the other areas I have talked to a MRI is done to show more information.

I am not saying this is what you have but rather since the location of the pain is in the area of a Gastro doctor to go to one to make sure you don't have a problem with that. And if you can get them to do a CT you can determine if there is a problem with the implant.

Good luck with this.

Yes, the doctor say everything appeared Ok but he scheduled a virtual colonoscopy because he said that the colon was not cleanse enough. I will do that in the coming week.

"Virtual Colonoscopy"? I wonder what that entails? How would it be virtual? I have horrible images of a home endoscope image sent over Zoom... :?

GM, I really do not know, I understand it is like a CT scan. I'm not doing that because of the pain it is because the doctor for the colonoscopy said that he did not see clearly my colon but if it helps with my pain the better. My prostate removal has been a disaster for me short of saving my life. I think I did it too early after the diagnosis. I did not have to take any drugs or do chemotherapy just removal that's it but I'm paying dearly for it now.

I told my gastro's assistant that the pain was so sharp and lasted for a day or 2 and I was worried that I would perforate something. That was so she could put the info in the order to the scan tech. The report said nothing about the problem with my proximal cylinders. But it was for a check of my colon not the implant. I did get a copy of the CT scan and was able to see the problem. I printed out the images and took them to my local uro's and then to the higher volume implant doctor out of area that I am waiting for to do the repair.

So you might want to contact your gastro and let them know about your implant if you have not already. And let the tech know also that it may be a concern. But even then you may need to get a copy and look yourself for a problem. I attached a image of mine to show what yo might be looking for. Both of my cylinders and RTE's have the same total length measurement. So they should be the same general area. The CT is like slices of images so the right and left proximal cylinders will be in different images.

Again this may not be your problem as I have really sharp pain with mine after have sex and just dull pain setting.

Good luck going forward with this. Let me know if I can help with this.

I couldn't get images to load but here is a link to an earlier thread where they are loaded with another for what to look for. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=15586

Have you been examined by your urologist for prostate cancer?

GM, my problem started after getting my prostate removed in 2006 due to prostate cancer, now I test for reoccurrence every 6 months.
Thank you
