Hey bionic guys, I forgot to mention and would like some input. The doc told me he will send me home with the catheter and I can take it out myself the next day. What's that experience like?

Steve not that bad,you just take a syringe and deflated the retention bulb that holds it in your bladder and gently but firmly slide it out your urethra. It will be a weird sensation but nothing really painful.By the way years ago I sold them.I was sent home without one and luckily dentin have problems urinating. Not being able not to is no fun and that’s called urinary retention. You may have some burning and a little blood when you urinate but that’s normal for some.I didn’t.Hope that helps!

I clamp the catheter to retain urine in my bladder. Stand in shower, then cut the other tube that inflates the catheter retention balloon and just Piss the catheter out. Easy.

I'm not a doctor. Just passing on what works for me.

I had my IPP without a catheter. Just got a drain that was removed the following day morning. The first thing I did after I woke up from anesthesia was to urinate. It was totally normal.
Why some doctors need it during surgery and others don't?

Some doctors use the catheter to mark location of the urethra. Preventing damage.

Thanks guys! I'm not frightened of removing the catheter, just didn''t have an idea how it is done. Doesn't sound bad. And my Covid-19 test came back negative. So the last hurdle has been cleared. Really excited to have functioning equipment again!

Hi, Steve,
I am 1 week postoperative and I know that I am going to really enjoy my new dick. I stayed overnight in the hospital, so they pulled my catheter. When I got home, I had 1 day of discomfort, not even pain. It looks like all the swelling is gone. I don't know if there is any change in the length, but the girth is definitely larger. I was a grower, 2inches to 7 inches, so I never really had this problem: deciding if I am going to hang to the left or hang to the right!. I am looking forward to my follow up meeting when I will be pumped up to 100%.

rms,
Excellent! Hope your recovery continues to be smooth. Hope mine is too. The Dr is not planning to keep me overnight. And I don''t care how it hangs as long as it works! :)

Warning about using the syringe to deflate the balloon. Make sure to "exercise" the syringe several times before attaching it to the luerlock fitting and let the pressure of the saline in the balloon move naturally into the syringe without pulling the plunger. If you fully deflate the balloon by aspirating (pulling the plunger all the way), it will cause wrinkles in the balloon which can be very painful when pulling the catheter out and can make for an uncomfortable few hours afterward as your urethra recovers from the abrasion.
