Pump Pain?

Postby OB1DRO » Mon Jan 25, 2021 5:57 pm

I am 7 weeks Post Op with a Coloplast Titan.

I am still experiencing some penile pain which dissipates later in the day. I also experience scrotum pain due to the pump as the day goes on.

1. Is this normal?
2. If so, how long does it last?
3. Any methods to reduce it?

Thanks

I can't address your implant. But I had a dr tell me once that many of our aches & pains can be traced back to sleeping habits. Since it sounds like your pain subsides during the day. I would suggest looking at how you sleep.
Are you a belly sleeper?
Any pets join you during the night?
Good luck.

If it anything like I was going through, you may want to get yourself a VED and use is sparingly.
IMHO, you are experiencing what I just call 'niggles' (adjustment pains).
I found out, quite by accident, that using a VED 'stretches' out your dick (not in THAT way), to make room for this new apparatus that it has to share the space with that is not very forgiving, but is still part of you.

You may also want to update your profile to have a signature that goes with all of your postings.

Thanks for responding.

I sleep on both my sides and back. I can't sleep on my stomach as it is too uncomfortable.

Can you tell me what a VED is?

1. Yes, this is probably normal. You've had a surgery that causes a lot of trauma to the tissues in that area. There's bound to be prolonged inflammation, soreness, etc until you're 100% healed.

2. For me, the testicular discomfort has almost completely dissipated, and I'm about 5 months out. Same goes with penile pain. Even when fully pumped, it's not a problem. For the first few months, there was no comfortable way to keep it tucked, and certain areas were quite sore when I was pumped up. I also had significant discomfort around the reservoir that is still fading...And that's not surprising since they poke a hole in your abdominal wall to pass the tubes through!

3. My doctor recommended taking ibuprofen regularly for the first couple of months to help reduce swelling and control pain. He also said to avoid ice if you can, as it restricts blood flow...instead, he suggested hot baths. Check in with your doctor about both of these before starting.

I've actually started to be able to lay on my stomach again in this last month, which is great. I'm out running and getting back in shape. Exercise was very uncomfortable in the first few months, so I just let my body heal up, and that worked out for me.

I will be 8 weeks post op with my titan on Wednesday. I have penile discomfort based on how much I am on my feet and how it's positioned in my compression shorts. I take ibuprofen pretty routinely every 6 hours. Plus there are sometimes I just need to let my penis out to breathe and fresh air. I am not having any discomfort related to my pump, but maybe that is because of ibuprofen. Some are better then others, but things are getting better all the time.
I do still have some swelling and numbness, laterally to penis and scrotum on the side with the pump.
Most importantly I am using it with wife. Happy to be Bionic

VED= Vaccuum Erection Device=Penis pump.
You have to be careful how you proceed, you don't want to pump to the point that some guys' cocks look like it came from outer space (IMHO)
There are several kinds out there. Just get one in your price range and make sure to listen to your body whenever you use it.
I just used mine the other day, and since I have to press up against my pelvic bone to secure the suction, my balls objected, so I am laying off for a bit.

My implant pump didn't cause pain in the scrotum after 3 months. THEN, I added another smaller pump to the sack to operate a urination valve. AUS800. My doc says he has had guys have scrotum pain for over a year. I still have pain to the point it takes courage to squeeze the implant pump. The AUS 800 has to be drained every 2 hrs but it doesn't take the pressure the implant pump needs to operate it. Fucking cancer sucks.

Thanks for all the responses.

I will look into the VED and consult with my doctor. The hot baths before bed really help reduce the pain and soreness!
