As a way of giving back to this highly useful, supportive, and informational franktalk site, I wrote a pamphlet about my opinions, literature searches, and experiences with the penile implant. The pamphlet, actually a mini-book, is available as two attachments, part 1 and part 2, that are part of this post (see below attachements).

The Road to Becoming A Bionic Male: Answers to Questions, Concerns, and Hopes
I remember the words of my local urologist who stated: "implants do have issues, but they work really well." Getting a penile implant is truly a wonderful surgical cure for erectile dysfunction; but it takes courage to man-up for this big step in your journey to fight, and overcome, the turmoil of erectile dysfunction. My life has become better since the implant because my mind is now "free from fixation" on the concerns of erectile dysfunction. Realizing that I am strongly capable and confident in the bedroom due to my restored manhood, I now have the freedom to focus on the other things in my world.

When I wrote this, I was 17 months after surgery. Life is good and I am so happy that I made the decision to get the implant. Over the last year, I have been quite active on this franktalk site. This pamphlet represents a compilation of my answers to many of the frequently asked questions. Maybe one day I will convert this into a book, but in the meantime, I have published this electronically here for your use as a source of first hand patient experience.
In a nutshell, this pamphlet discusses everything you need to know about the implant. It is of course, "one man's opinion", but I have done my best to remain objective and to pull in medical journal articles to support these writings.

This is a long, over 60 pages, document; so, for organization, I have included a Table of Contents shown below. I have no financial interests or conflicts with regards to the implant manufacturers or surgeons; my only motivation for writing this pamphlet is to share my knowledge and experience; I am quite aware how this journey can become "all consuming" for a patient; so, as a former patient, this work represents my endeavor to "give back" .

I hope many of you found my pamphlet wiki useful, it has been an interesting road. Many of you may wonder how things are going now that I am 4 years after surgery.

Good news, things are going amazingly well. The implant works as great as it ever did. As mentioned in my pamphlet, it is a "beast of a sex machine." The statement that, "the implant just becomes part of you" is very true. I have fully accepted the implant, I am proud of it. I like it. It is me. When I dream of sex, I dream about sex with the implant (and yes that includes needing to pump up), and those dreams are way better than the fearful dreams back when I had ED and might conjure up scenarios of bedroom failures. Now, my psyche and confidence arw far far better, and I summarize that my mindset when going in to the bedroom is summarized by the following photo:

So that is the good news. There is, I think no bad news so far. My main complaint is that I wish that my glans would get fully engorged and really hard; but , as discussed in chapter 10, the inplant does not fix the glans. So many of us wonder: "how is a bionic dick better than an natural dick" and "how is a bionic dick inferior to a natural dick ?"

At four years, I can say: ""The bionic dick is better than a natural dick because it gets super hard (women like that), it is magical since it obeys the command to get up and stay up -- for hours if desired (women like that), it liberates you from any concern about bedroom performance or time clock, and it frees you to think about other things in life rather than your inadequacy as a male since it is truly a cure for erectile dysfunction"

For your second edition, I suggest including in your chapter 13, some of the concepts in this article (and others that may come along):
