Survey - 2nd round? Anyone else get contacted?

Postby Waynetho » Wed Jan 20, 2021 10:26 pm

I was passed by on the first go around for the ED survey a month or so ago and was never even contacted. Some others said they too had not been contacted although I can't be sure since the thread was deleted or has slipped into oblivion and I can't find it.

Has anyone who missed the first round of surveys been called up to take the survey? I ask because I was just contacted yesterday by email and took an online survey that sounds very much like the one everyone was taking earlier. They even promised a $40.00 "honorarium" but I'm not sure how it will arrive yet as they asked me for my mailing address to send it. I suspect it will be a prepaid debit card but I have no clue.

Has anyone else been contacted regarding this new survey?

I did one of these aprox. 2 years ago. And I signed up for one back a few months ago and was not contacted them. I did get contacted Julia Worthen by e-mail on 1-14 for an online survey. However the one I did almost 2 years ago was a phone interview and as I understand the one a few months ago was also. I did this one on line. So this is different but I don't know which it is in reference to. Both were done by an independent company to hide the company name. There was a rumor that the first one a few years ago was AMS and some of that info was released by other members even though they required you to promise not to disclose any information. The one done a few months ago was said in a post to be done by some other company than AMS or Coloplast. But I am not sure. I do not have any idea who is behind this one. Not a big deal to me if I get the $40. But we will see. I am more interested in feed back from questions I asked. So far nothing on that.

That's the online survey I was emailed about on 1/18. It was from Julia Worthen. Funny there was no implied or explicit NDA that I could find on the survey site.

No, I've only had my implant for about 15 months and I hadn't been looking for a solution to my problems until about four months prior to implant. The first survey with which I was familiar was the phone survey that Paul posted about a couple of months ago.

I qualified and took the phone survey/interview a few months ago and also got the last email for the online survey. Took the online survey and was promised $40 honorarium but if it never comes oh well. Looks like the future of implants might have an interesting option but we'll see how long it takes to make it to market. The thought of being able to influence the design and functionality of it is pretty cool.

Wish I had consulted FT before I "qualified" and took the survey. The survey website seemed to be legit. I guess I'll see.

BTW, the survey asked questions about a "new generation" implant.

I took the survey. Pretty long and complicated, but it seems worth participating. Good to see attemtion being paid to men's health.

I received an email a few days ago about the study and answered the qualifying questions. However, I was rejected for the study so I replied to the rejection email and asked "Why wasn't I acceptable?" I got an email back telling me that participants must have had their implant for at least one year and I'm only 8 months post-op.
